A short review of our Ova-8 35 ft Carbon Pole.

We bought this late in 2021 after Cleaning Expo Uk Show 2022 for some 4th storey flats we were cleaning. I liked the idea of the anti spin pole and also it felt ok to hold for me (I have nerve issues causing a weakness in my right arm).

Positives:
The shape has meant that on slight angles it doesn't spin and is easier to control.
Weight is comparable to competitors for the length of the pole and the standard brush head is pretty good.
The optional fan jets give good coverage without having to amend the bristles as you do need to do in some other brush heads.

Negatives:
Length of the pole closed and section lengths make it difficult for my wife to extend upwards and to be honest its not easy for me either (I'm 5ft 11).
The fact that these weren't designed to fit univalves in the top sections means it can be an issue to switch off sometimes.

Other than that, for height work I recommend it, compared to our previous Gardiner CLX its miles better and lighter putting less strain on the body.

Our first review for fellow property cleaners is of the absolutely brilliant Gutter Vacuum Systems Panther 1700w.

We bought this in August 2021 after finding our DIY system was getting a bit old and battered and was a bit too heavy for our needs.

We chose the top of the range (At the time) 35ft Push Fit Carbon Poles with the bags and also the double claw attachment. 👊

Now to be completely honest, I was ready to spend the money on it but my wife and business partner was really hesitant - for a small firm starting out it was a significant outlay. Would we get the money back? Speaking to Julia @ GVS put our mind at ease and we are glad we bought this.

What's it suitable for?
Really its ideal for probably 90% of domestic work up to 3 storeys, although we haven't had one property we can't do yet and we've done some 4th storey work too.

Positives
The base unit is incredibly light and hard wearing. We've dropped it, taken it onto flat roofs up a ladder and once you get used to moving it around it's a game changer. Much lighter than our previous 3600w vac and due to the cyclonic inlet, I don't think there was a drop in power.

The poles are amazingly tough and light and can take the abuse thrown at them in their stride.

Negatives
The plastic inlet has worn a bit over the past year but GVS have already addressed this with a metal 72mm Cyclonic inlet on new models.

The push fits are prone to spin unless pushed in really tight, which then makes them difficult to remove (although not impossible). Because of this I would probably recommend the clamped carbon poles.

Now we loved this so much we have recommended to nearly every person we know doing gutter cleans. And we recently became an authorised distributor for all Gutter Vacuum Systems products which can be purchased through our website or by messaging us.
