LEGISLATION Update for everyone in Scotland!!

The Scottish Government has confirmed that provisions banning the use, supply and possession of rodent glue traps will come into force on 1 July 2026 under the Wildlife Management and Muirburn (Scotland) Act 2024.

From 1 July 2026, it will be an offence in Scotland to:

❌ Use a glue trap for the purpose of taking or killing any animal, including restraining it

❌ Set a glue trap in a way likely to cause injury to any animal

❌ Supply or offer to supply a glue trap
Possess a glue trap

❌ To cause or allow someone to do any of the above.

The offences do not apply to invertebrates.

Stressful start to the day for me with jobs stacked up. Thankfully got back up and running quickly. Though I actually had to replace 2 tyres today! 🤬

Hi folks, just letting you all know I simply can't take on anymore jobs right now (local or not).

With the nice weather currently I've had a lot of enquiries about "wasps" which are mainly bee issues at this time of the year. There seems to be a lot of confusion around bee populations in the UK about what's legal and what's not with regards to removal. So thought I'd post some information.

🐝Bees in the UK are NOT protected by any legislation(except the shrill carder bee, not found in Scotland).

🐝If you've got a honey bee swarm or hive you can call a bee keeper for advice/removal or I will be able to call one for you once ID of species is confirmed.

🐝Bee keepers will NOT remove bumblebees! Honey bees only!

🐝Bumblebee relocation may be an option but success rate of survival is usually low once relocated. (I no longer offer this service)

🐝Bees are the greatest pollinators on this planet and we should try and save them as best we can.

🐝Bee removal is the last option. If the bees pose a safety risk then removal should be carried out by a qualified professional pest controller.

Please try and save any bee populations as they are only active for a short period of time in the year.
