Black fixtures require a slightly different approach. 🖤

Limescale, cosmetic residue and everyday dirt can quickly take away from their elegant appearance. That’s why, when cleaning thoroughly, I pay attention not only to the tap itself, but also to the base, joints and the areas around it.

🧼 LVT Flooring – Do You Really Need to Be Afraid of Mopping?

I often come across clients who have LVT flooring and deliberately avoid using much water because they are worried about damaging the floor.

A common thing I hear is:

“I have LVT, so I only use a Vileda flat spray mop because I don't want to use too much water.”

And there is an important point worth explaining. 👇

Yes – LVT does not need large amounts of water.

In fact, excessive moisture can be undesirable, particularly around joins, edges and certain types of installation.

That is why a flat microfiber mop, including a spray mop, can be a very useful tool for everyday or light maintenance.

It allows you to control the amount of moisture, dries quickly and works well for keeping the floor looking clean between more thorough cleans.

But there is a difference between using minimal moisture and not cleaning the floor sufficiently.

When I carry out a professional regular clean, simply spraying the floor and going over it with a flat mop is not always enough.

Your floor can contain much more than visible dust and crumbs:

• fine sand and grit
• grease
• footprints
• hair and pet hair
• dried-on dirt
• product residue
• dirt brought in from outside

That is why professional cleaning should start with thorough vacuuming, followed by proper wet cleaning.

My approach is:

VACUUM → CLEAN → CHANGE/RINSE SOLUTION WHEN NEEDED → ALLOW TO DRY

It is not about using lots of water.

It is about using the right amount of moisture, the right cleaning product and the right technique.

The cleaning product itself also matters. Not every detergent is suitable for every type of LVT. Using too much product, or the wrong product, can leave a residue or film on the surface. Over time, the floor can start to look dull, sticky or dirty – even though it is being cleaned regularly.

So, is a Vileda spray mop bad for LVT?

No. Absolutely not.

It can be a very practical tool for maintaining your floor between more thorough cleans.

The problem starts when being afraid of water means the floor is only lightly wiped rather than properly cleaned.

LVT doesn't need lots of water.
But it still needs proper cleaning. 🧼

And of course, always check the manufacturer's care instructions for your specific flooring, as different LVT products and finishes can have different cleaning requirements.

Clean smart , not just harder. ✨

Some areas are easy to forget about… until you actually look inside. 👀

Moisture, detergent residue and poor airflow can create the perfect conditions for mould to develop over time.

That’s why a proper deep clean means getting into the areas that are often overlooked. 🧽✨

Because a truly clean home isn’t just about what you can see. 🤍

✨ A small detail, but a big difference! ✨

The detergent drawer in your washing machine is one of those areas that’s so easy to forget during regular cleaning. Over time, detergent and fabric softener residue, build-up and moisture can collect inside.

Today it got a proper deep clean — and here’s the BEFORE ➡️ AFTER 🧼✨

It’s often these small details that make such a difference when giving a home a really thorough clean. 🤍

✨ Deep Clean – it’s all about the details! ✨

I focused on those little areas that are so easy to overlook during regular cleaning. 🧽✨

One of the things I cleaned today was the inner cooking pot of a Ninja – an everyday item that also needs a proper deep clean from time to time.

That’s what deep cleaning is all about: not just cleaning what you can see at first glance, but paying attention to the smaller details and the things we use every day.

Another home refreshed and another deep clean completed. 🤍

🧹 Why do I always recommend using the homeowner's own vacuum cleaner?

This is one of the questions I'm asked most often.

Many people assume that a professional cleaner should bring their own vacuum cleaner. While that may seem like the obvious choice, from a hygiene perspective, it's not always the best one.

Every home has its own unique environment. Carpets, rugs and upholstery naturally contain dust, dust mites, pet hair, pollen and other microscopic particles that are specific to that household.

Even the highest-quality vacuum cleaner, regularly cleaned and well maintained, is not sterile. Using the same vacuum cleaner in multiple homes may increase the risk of transferring microscopic allergens and other contaminants from one property to another.

That's why I always recommend using the vacuum cleaner already in the client's home. It's a conscious approach that helps minimise the risk of cross-contamination while maintaining a higher standard of hygiene.

By doing so, we:
✔️ help reduce the transfer of allergens,
✔️ maintain a higher level of hygiene,
✔️ use a vacuum cleaner that is already suited to the home's flooring,
✔️ help protect everyone in the household, especially allergy sufferers, young children and pets.

It's attention to details like these that separates ordinary cleaning from a truly professional service.

Because professionalism isn't just about what you can see when the job is finished. It's also about making informed decisions that help protect hygiene and the wellbeing of every home.

A little test for dishwasher owners… 👀

When was the last time you checked behind the rubber door seal of your dishwasher?

I don’t just mean giving the outside a quick wipe.

These hard-to-reach areas can gradually collect:

• moisture,
• grease,
• food residue,
• build-up,
• and sometimes even mould.

And the interesting thing is — your dishwasher can look perfectly clean from the outside. Your dishes can be coming out clean. The inside can look fresh and spotless.

And then you pull back the rubber seal… 👀

It’s one of those areas that is very easy to forget because you simply don’t see it during everyday use.

But what actually happens if all that dirt is left there for a long time?

Moisture, grease and organic residue can create the right conditions for a slimy build-up and the growth of microorganisms. Over time, this can lead to unpleasant smells, dark discolouration and even mould.

Accumulated dirt can also affect how well the seal sits against the surrounding surface. And the more moisture remains trapped in those hard-to-reach areas, the easier it becomes for the problem to keep coming back.

That’s why a proper clean shouldn’t be limited only to the surfaces you can see at first glance.

When giving your dishwasher a thorough clean, it’s worth checking the hidden areas too — especially the places where moisture regularly collects.

Now I’m curious:

👉 Have you ever checked this part of your dishwasher properly?

Because sometimes the biggest surprises are hiding exactly where nobody normally looks. 😅

Would you have thrown this toaster away… or given it one more chance? 🍞

The “before” photo doesn’t just show an old toaster. It shows years of crumbs, grease, burnt-on residue and everything that somehow disappears through those tiny slots faster than we’d like to admit 😅

And this is exactly why I love transformations like this.

Not everything needs to be thrown away and replaced with something new. Sometimes, all it needs is a little patience, the right approach and a proper deep clean to reveal what is still there underneath.

This toaster didn’t need a new life.
It simply needed… a really good clean. ✨

Now I’m curious:

👉 What is the one thing in your home you keep putting off because you think, “I don’t think that can be cleaned anymore”? 😄

🚿 WHEN YOUR SHOWER GLASS ISN’T ACTUALLY “DIRTY” ANYMORE…

Have you ever cleaned your shower glass over and over again, but it still looks cloudy, dull or covered in white marks?

You might think:

❌ “It just needs a stronger product.”
❌ “It needs a more thorough clean.”

But sometimes… the problem is no longer dirt.

Over time, hard water deposits, soap scum, body oils and product residue can build up on shower glass.

If these deposits are left for a long period of time, they can permanently affect the surface of the glass.

This can leave the glass looking:

🤍 cloudy or milky
🤍 dull and hazy
🤍 covered in white or grey marks
🤍 almost “etched” or damaged

And unfortunately, once the glass surface has been permanently affected, cleaning alone may not be enough to restore it to its original condition.

🔍 THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART:

✨ BUILD-UP may be removable with the correct professional cleaning methods.

⚠️ PERMANENT GLASS DAMAGE is a different matter altogether.

In some cases, specialist glass polishing may help. However, the results can be limited depending on the severity and depth of the damage.

That’s why using stronger and stronger products is not always the answer.

Sometimes the glass doesn’t need a more aggressive clean.

Sometimes the surface has already been permanently affected.

🚿 Regular maintenance and removing hard water deposits before they become heavily baked onto the glass can make a huge difference.

So if your shower glass still looks dirty after cleaning, it may be worth asking:

👉 Is it actually dirt?

Or has the surface of the glass already been damaged?
