✨ A little reintroduction for all my new followers ✨

Hi, I’m the face behind Devon Pram Cleaning 👋🏼

I’m a mum of two, originally from Ireland, and after meeting my other half in Australia, we relocated to his hometown of Exeter in 2021 ❤️

After some time off work due to health-related issues, I found myself wanting something positive to focus on. I’ve always had a passion for deep cleaning (and prams! 😅), especially after having my own children and using so much baby equipment myself.

What started as cleaning my own items and helping friends with theirs, slowly turned into me taking the leap and creating Devon Pram Cleaning 🫧

Since then, the support has honestly been amazing and I’m so grateful to see the business continue to grow 🥹

One thing that’s really important to me is not only providing deep cleans, but also helping educate parents on how to safely clean baby equipment. I’d seen so many products and methods being used that could actually affect the safety of items, so sharing safe cleaning tips has become a big part of my page too 💛

This label is such an important reminder that car seats and upholstery are tested to strict fire safety standards before they are sold. The foams, fillings and fabrics are specifically designed and tested to be resistant to ignition sources such as ci******es and matches.

That’s why it’s so important to always check labels and follow the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance. I recently saw a video showing someone using Lenor mixed with water to clean a car seat cover. While it may seem like a harmless cleaning hack, using fabric softeners, strong detergents, sprays or unapproved products can affect the materials and potentially interfere with the fire-resistant properties the seat was originally tested with.

Car seats are safety equipment, not just baby accessories. The fabrics, foams and covers all work together as part of the seat’s safety testing. Using products not recommended by the manufacturer could void warranties, affect safety performance, and compromise the standards the seat passed during testing.

Before cleaning any car seat:

• Read every warning and care label
• Follow the manufacturer’s instructions only
• Avoid fabric softeners and harsh cleaning products
• Never use social media “cleaning hacks” without checking guidance first
• Remember that aftermarket products and chemicals may affect safety testing

A clean car seat matters, but keeping its safety features intact matters even more.
