I charge £20 an hour and even that is not “high profit” for a full time self employed cleaner once you take out petrol, products, insurance, travel time, unpaid gaps between jobs, tax, holidays and sickness. People see the hourly rate but not the actual costs behind running a business properly.

I generally do not clean TV screens thoroughly because I do not regularly carry distilled or de-ionised water. In most cases, I simply remove light dust from the top of the television and the screen.

If a screen needs to be cleaned properly, the recommended method is as follows:

1. Turn the television off and allow the screen to cool.
2. Use a clean microfiber or lint-free glass cloth.
3. Lightly dampen the cloth with distilled or de-ionised water.
4. Gently wipe the screen without applying pressure.
5. Use a dry microfiber cloth to remove any remaining moisture.

This method helps avoid streaks and reduces the risk of damaging the screen surface.

Client Update New Pricing Structure for New Clients 📢

Due to extremely high demand, my books are currently full and operating with waiting lists. I will always do my best to accommodate new clients by rotating cleans and extending working days where possible.

To manage this demand while maintaining the highest cleaning standards, I will be introducing per job pricing for new clients only.

What this means:

• All existing clients remain on their current hourly rate
• No changes will be made unless an existing client requests it
• New clients will receive a fixed price per clean, based on the job
• This price remains the same whether cleans are weekly, fortnightly, or monthly
• You’ll always know exactly what you’re paying … no surprises

Why this change is necessary:

• Allows better planning and flexibility within my working day
• Helps accommodate new clients despite a full diary
• Ensures every clean receives the same high standard of care
• Maintains fairness and transparency as demand continues to grow

This change does not affect the quality of my cleans and is designed to keep my service consistent, reliable and sustainable.

💪 Today’s Deep Clean .. One of the Toughest Yet 🚿

Today we completed a very challenging deep clean, helping an elderly lady living with dementia who sadly was no longer able to keep on top of things. Situations like this remind us why professional cleaning really does matter 💙

This bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned for years. We’re talking
• Thick, layered dust
• Heavy limescale and staining
• Ground in grime and build up
• A major shower blockage 🚫🚿

Unfortunately, the shower couldn’t be used at all due to the blockage. This will need a specialist to fully clear it. With no running fresh water, everything had to be done the old fashioned way. Bucket after bucket after bucket 🪣😅

Despite the conditions, we focused on what we were there to do. Clean. I can honestly say this was the hardest bathroom clean of my career.

✨ The results
• Toilet and sink restored beautifully
• Years of grime and limescale removed
• Shower fully cleaned down as far as possible

The only thing that couldn’t be saved was the silicone. Mould damage over time means it will need replacing to fully resolve it. Sometimes honesty is part of professionalism.

I was so focused on getting the job done that I forgot before and after photos. But I did manage to grab shower pics 🚿

This job wasn’t about perfection. It was about effort, care, and giving dignity back to someone who needed help.

🎄 Client Appreciation Post 🎄

I want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all of my wonderful clients. Every single one of you has surprised me with a Christmas gift this year and I am truly so grateful. I genuinely have the best clients.

A few weeks ago, I sadly lost an elderly clientand it affected me more than I expected. Many of you become more than clients you become friendly faces and familiar conversations and that connection truly matters to me.

This year has been a little disorganised on my end, but next year I’ll be better prepared and will be returning the favour with Christmas gifts of my own, as a small way of showing my appreciation for such amazing people who trust me to care for their homes.

There are just a couple more cleans to go before my Christmas break. The days are very busy and I can honestly say my body is very much looking forward to a rest a great excuse for some massages 😉 but the chats, laughs and friendly faces make it all worthwhile.
