Fantastic news from The Beacon Angus!

We're incredibly proud of our team at The Beacon in Arbroath, who have been recognised with Police Scotland's Policing Partner of the Year Award! A brilliant achievement and well-deserved recognition of the amazing work they do supporting people across Angus.

We've got some exciting news to share! 💙🏆

We are absolutely delighted to announce that The Beacon has been awarded Police Scotland Tayside's Divisional Commander's Policing Partner of the Year Award! 🎉

This is a fantastic recognition of the partnership we've built with Police Scotland and, most importantly, the difference we're making together for people experiencing mental health and wellbeing distress across Angus.

Since opening our doors in April 2025, we've provided over 4,198 support sessions to more than 800 people, offering a safe, welcoming and compassionate space when it's needed most.

Working closely with Police Scotland and our wider partners means more people can access the right support, at the right time, in their community.

We are incredibly proud of our amazing Beacon team, whose kindness, dedication and compassion make such a difference every day.

A huge thank you to Police Scotland for this recognition, to all our partners for their continued support, and to everyone who has helped make The Beacon what it is today.

🚲 More than a bike: helping Will regain his independence

Sometimes, something as simple as a bicycle can make a huge difference.

When Will, who lives at our Tollcross View homelessness service in Edinburgh, had his bike stolen, he lost an important way of getting around independently.

Thanks to a fantastic partnership with community cycling charity Cyclecrieff, Will has received a refurbished bicycle, along with essential cycling equipment.

The impact has been immediate, giving Will greater freedom to get out and about, attend appointments and enjoy everyday activities, while making a real difference to his physical and mental wellbeing.

It’s a wonderful example of how working together can help people build confidence, improve their wellbeing and enjoy greater independence.

A huge thank you to Cycle Crieff for helping make this possible! 👏

🎃 A fantastic Halloween celebration took place at our Oxgangs Project in Edinburgh recently!

The people we support got stuck into a range of activities throughout the day, including cooking, arts and crafts, and even face painting. One resident brought along his own face painting kit and set up a face painting station, which was a big hit with everyone.

Staff and residents also worked together to create goody bags to hand out during the party, helping make the day extra special.

There were plenty of smiles, lots of creativity and a great community spirit throughout the event. A huge well done to everyone involved for making it such a fun day! 👻🧡

The Asset Management Team is part of the Property Department and works across all companies within Hillcrest. Our main purpose is to ensure all residential and commercial properties are managed and maintained in compliance with statutory and legislative requirements and for ensuring the delivery of high-quality effective asset investment services.

The Peripatetic Property Officer (PPO) will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective estate management and inspection service for Hillcrest tenants including social rented and mid-market rent properties. This will include, dealing with customers, complaints and providing reports in line with relevant policies and procedures. The PPO will join a rota of Officer Staff to provide out-of-hour support to our trades teams and initial attendance at emergencies.

🎃 There was plenty of Halloween spirit at our Dickson Avenue Housing with Care service in Dundee recently, where staff put on a spooky afternoon tea for the people they support.

From Halloween treats to themed decorations, everyone enjoyed spending time together and getting into the festive spirit.
