It looked clean. The dirty water says otherwise.
This carpet didn’t look heavily soiled. No dramatic stains. No obvious layer of dirt. To most people, it simply looked clean.
Then we started extracting.
The second photo shows what was actually being removed from deeper within the carpet.
That’s the problem with judging a carpet by its surface: what you can see is only the top of the pile. Fine soil, dust and residues work their way deeper down, where normal vacuuming can’t always remove them.
A carpet doesn’t need to look dirty to need a proper clean.
Don’t wait until your carpet looks dirty. By then, the dirt has already been there for a long time.

One important change: I would avoid claiming that “75% of the carpet is pure dirt.” That’s a very strong factual claim and would be difficult to substantiate. The real dirty extraction water in your photo is actually much more convincing because it’s genuine evidence from the job.
