Just a public PSA: FAKE ONLINE HOUSE CLEANERS

Please be careful who you take cleaning advice from on social media.

As someone who’s worked as a cleaner professionally for 10 years now, I have walked into a fair few properties in my time and have observed lots of damaged fixtures and surfaces over the years.

There is a huge difference between a professional house cleaner with years of hands-on experience and extensive product and surface knowledge… and a cleaning enthusiast chasing views online.

I’ve personally seen creators:
• Scratch stainless steel refrigerators with pumice stones.
• Use toilet bowl cleaner on granite countertops and let's face it, every single fixture in their bathroom.
• Remove grout because they didn’t know how to clean it… only to realize they had no idea how to replace it.
• Making 'potions' of different chemicals and accidentally creating dangerous chlorine gas.

Not everyone giving cleaning advice actually cleans homes professionally.

Even if you see a tip from me, I encourage you to do your own research first. Every surface is different, and one bad piece of advice can cause hundreds—or even thousands—of £££ in damage.
