🌞 Important reminder for our older generation 🌞

When the weather gets hot, please take extra care of yourself:

✅ Drink plenty of water – little and often, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid too much tea, coffee or alcohol.
✅ Stay cool indoors – keep curtains/blinds closed in sunny rooms, open windows when it’s cooler, use a fan if you have one.
✅ Wear loose, light-coloured, cotton clothes – they let air circulate and keep you cooler.
✅ Avoid going out during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm). If you must go out, stay in the shade, wear a hat and light scarf, and take water with you.
✅ Eat light meals – salads, fruit and cold foods are better than heavy, hot meals.
✅ Check on neighbours, friends or family – a quick call or visit can make all the difference.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, nausea, headache, fast pulse, or feeling very tired. If this happens, cool down, drink water, and ask for help if you don’t feel better soon.
