Another job shared with another Andy (Andy May).
The clients wanted to have another parking space and area to sit out in front of house.
A lot of earth moved then wall, steps and fence built and upper level dug out, membraned and gravelled.
Andy M the did steps and fencing, we shared the landscaping and I did the walling.
Alfie did the sniffing about, stick chewing and sleeping.

Anyone interested in secure storage in Cockermouth? I'm only using half of this 20 ft container on Low Road (Green Box) and paying £120 per month.
Putting in free-standing shelving would give you loads of space for tools etc. or anything else to de-clutter.

Heavy duty padlocked container and secure locked gate to get onto site.

£60 pcm plus £20 to owner for key deposit

Was a hard week mentally and physically but thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to H&W training of Dumfries for a great course. Went from almost no experience to C&G ticket to fell trees up to 380mm diameter. And thanks to Cindy and Jim for putting me up (putting up with me😉) for the week.

The cut was meant to look like that btw

Not been posting again.
So here's most recent job. Repointing 1856 church wall in Brigham with hot lime mortar. Architect specified like for like and modern cement wasn't a thing back then. Soft sandstone wall, and needed a bit of rebuilding in places. Nearly done now after some days when it was too hot to use mortar. True, there is more faff with this mortar. Needs compacting in and beating in with a churn brush at the right moment. Also, hanging hessian and keeping damp during initial curing. But tis what tis, looks great and will last a long time, keeping stone in good nick by allowing moisture to escape from beds rather than from stone.

Just had a great weekend doing a hedgelaying course at Middlewood Trust. Massive thanks to Nicola for her hospitality and patience. Everyone had a great time despite the hellish weather.

Down at Arnside today for first hedgelaying competition, after one day course last month. Great learning experience, lovely bunch of people.

Been busy stake and tube planting broadleaf trees with Cockermouth Wall and Tree team. Filling in gaps in existing woodland. Using every minute of daylight, not much available at this time of year. Never mind, days will start getting longer again in a couple of days🌞 Seasons Greetings all, stay safe and have a good one.
