✨ Let’s clear something up… Cleaning isn’t “just cleaning.” ✨

There’s a stigma around our industry that I’ve wanted to talk about for a while.

People often think cleaning is easy.
“It’s only wiping a few sides.”
“Anyone can clean.”
“It must be nice having an easy job.”

The reality?

Professional cleaning is a serious profession.

Yes, it can be physically demanding, but it also requires trust, consistency, attention to detail, time management, problem-solving and genuine pride in what you do.

Our team spend hours on their feet every single day. We’re lifting, stretching, kneeling, climbing, carrying equipment, moving furniture, tackling limescale, scrubbing bathrooms, polishing glass, vacuuming, mopping, dusting every surface and paying attention to the tiniest details that most people would never notice.

Then there’s the responsibility.

People hand us the keys to their homes. They trust us around their children, their pets, their treasured belongings and the spaces they feel safest. That’s a responsibility we never take lightly.

Sadly, our industry is often seen as a “stop-gap” job or something to do until something better comes along.

The Steph’s Sparkles machine is in full flow.

The phones are ringing, the enquiries keep coming, the rotas are filling, our team are out doing what they do best, and every day we’re taking another step forward.

When I started this business, I never imagined we’d grow into what we are today. But one thing has never changed…

We refuse to stand still.

We’re always looking for ways to improve, invest in our team, introduce new services and raise the bar. That’s what keeps this business moving forward.

Our newest diary is filling up faster than we expected, and we’re now down to just a handful of regular spaces.

I absolutely love seeing a rota go from empty to almost full. It’s a reminder that hard work, consistency and genuinely caring about what you do never go unnoticed.

The momentum right now feels incredible… and if I’m honest?

I don’t think we’ve even scratched the surface of what’s to come.

This one is a special one… Meet Nat! 🤍

What can I say? From the moment you applied for the job, I absolutely loved your energy. Your positivity was infectious, and I just knew you’d fit right in.

Fast forward almost three years, and you’re not just part of the team… you’re part of the furniture. ❤️

Nat originally started out on the cleans, but as the business grew, so did her role. These days she’s our dedicated Admin Manager (and let’s be honest… basically my PA! 😂).

She keeps this ship sailing. From organising the diary and looking after our clients, to supporting the team, keeping everything running smoothly and solving problems before they become problems. She is quite simply the glue that holds so much of Steph’s Sparkles together.

Her dedication, loyalty and commitment have played such a huge part in the growth of this business, and I honestly can’t imagine doing it without her.

Bobbie joined Steph’s Sparkles back in April, and honestly… what a dream she has been. 💫

From day one she’s thrown herself into every clean with such care, pride and professionalism. She’s kind, hardworking and the type of person clients instantly feel comfortable having in their home.

It’s not just the standard of her cleaning that stands out either - it’s the relationships she builds. She genuinely cares about making someone’s day a little easier, whether that’s leaving their home sparkling, having a good chat, or taking one more thing off their ever-growing to-do list. 🫶

☀️ SUMMER HOLIDAYS… WEEK 4 ☀️

Who’s surviving… and who’s just about hanging on by a thread? 😂

I’m somehow doing an Aldi run every other day because I’ve never known a fridge empty so quickly, and if I hear the words…

“Muuuuum… I’m bored.”

…one more time, I may just internally combust. 🤣

I love her to pieces and I’ll absolutely miss her when she’s back at school… but I am very much looking forward to the return of routine and a house that stays tidy for longer than 47 seconds. 😂

Last night, while I was cooking tea and trying to tidy up, Alice proudly announced she was making slime.

With…

🥁 Flour.
🥁 Washing up liquid.
🥁 At the kitchen sink.

I simply closed my eyes, looked up at the ceiling and thought…

“God, if you’re listening… please don’t let her walk away and leave this for me.” 🤣

The irony?

I genuinely don’t mind cleaning up after our clients’ children. Fingerprints? Crumbs? Craft disasters? Bring it on.

But my own house? That’s a completely different story. 😂😂

So if your home is looking anything like mine after four weeks of summer holidays… don’t stress.

We’ll happily deal with the mess while you enjoy what’s left of the holidays. 🫧✨

Now… if anyone knows how to remove homemade flour-and-washing-up-liquid slime from a kitchen sink, cupboards, floor, oven, toaster…. asking for a friend… 👀😂
