I’ll be spending a lot of time this weekend tidying the garden and soaking up the sun🤩

Do you see the garden as another space to declutter or do you keep it totally separate from your house?🏡

Don’t be a show off!🙅🏻‍♀️

The easiest way to cut down your time cleaning is to have less on show - unnecessary things like, body wash, perfumes, trinket dishes and candles that aren’t yet being burnt. They may seem small but they make the time add up a huge amount!

Happy National Sibling Day to my big sis 🥰👩🏻‍🤝‍👩🏼

If I told you all how many times I helped H declutter her bedroom when we were growing up you’d laugh🤪 it always ended up with her sitting on the bed watching me do most of the work🤣 this is why we call her “untidy Heidi”!

There’s no way in hell I’d ever be able to live with you, H, but I love you crazy amounts xx

I completed the Virtual Hoarding Awareness Training with today and it was SO informative!

The thing that they stressed the most was to always take it one step at a time👣 This is super important when addressing hoarding behaviours but I think it can apply to an “ordinary” decluttering session also. We often get too overwhelmed by the process as opposed to the “stuff”, which leads us feeling unmotivated and stops us from taking any action at all🙅🏻‍♀️

So, the next time you decide to declutter, remember to focus on one section at a time. Set yourself clear and manageable tasks so that you get the most out of your decluttering journey✅

Hoppy Easter everyone!🐰

Also, a little reminder that if your kids can find all of the chocolate eggs you’ve hidden then they can find anything if they put their mind to it🤪

A little motivation and encouragement for you✨

You know what they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Small regular steps will lead to BIG results! 🧱

Also, try to be 100% honest with yourself throughout the process. Being ruthless really does pay off and the chances of you regretting throwing certain items away are slim to none.

I hope you’re all enjoying your long weekend so far xx

Now is a great time to start editing your wardrobe as the weather is starting to take a turn☀️

Editing sections of your wardrobe after each season is a lot less overwhelming than if you do it all in one go. Plus, it allows you to focus on certain clothing and make better decisions because there’s less to think about and you’ll know for sure what you have/haven’t worn over the past few months!🤩

So, focus on the winter clothes you own. Jumpers, sweatshirts, long sleeved tops, scarves, gloves etc and ask yourself:

1. Have I worn this in the last season?
2. Do I still like this item?
3. Have I worn it so much that it now looks tatty and old?
4. Does it still fit me how I want it to fit me?
5. Can/will I repair this? (If the item needs repairing)

If you’re not quite ready to edit your winter wardrobe then just thinking about it can really help you make the right and quick decisions when it comes down to it💭

Getting started is often the hardest part for a lot of tasks and decluttering is no exception😩

If you’re wondering how to start then swipe to see some options👉🏼

The addies game is my fave because it reminds me of my mum. She used to do little jobs during the adverts when we were younger and tell me and my sister to let her know when the programme was starting again. Then she’d rush back into the room and relax for another 10 minutes or so before the next adverts began😝

“Decluttering makes me feel too overwhelmed so I just ignore it!”

This is something I’ve heard a lot from different clients so I’ve made a simple to-do list for you to go through if the feeling of overwhelm has taken over👇🏼

1. Remove yourself from the room/area you’re working in and take 5 minutes - get some fresh air or make yourself a cuppa!☕️

2. Really think about WHY you started in the first place. Maybe you want spend less time cleaning your home or feel more calm and relaxed in it. Whatever the reason, think back to it and focus on how the end result will make you feel🤔

3. Chances are you’ve already sorted out a load of things you don’t want anymore and they’re taking up a lot of space in the room you’re working in. Get these gone. Put it in the car ready for the tip run or in an allocated space in your house for you to take future action on 🗑

4. Finally, start again, focusing on one small area at a time rather than focussing on the entire room. This will make it more manageable for you and you’ll see results quicker than you expect!🎉

Hope this helps!💞
