Another day, another pest, this time Ants

We had a call out from a commercial customer in Kingswood as they had many ants in their premises!

One of the most common questions we get is: "Why don't you just spray them?"

The answer is simple, spraying only kills the ants you can see. The vast majority of the colony, including the queen, remains hidden away in the nest.

That's why we use professional gel baits. Worker ants are attracted to the bait and carry it back to the colony, where it's shared with other ants and the queen. This allows us to target the source of the infestation rather than just providing a temporary fix. Known in the pest control industry as "spray and pray"🙏

You may even notice increased ant activity around the bait initially – that's a good sign. It means the ants are feeding and taking the bait back to the nest, helping to eliminate the colony from within.

When it comes to ant control, effective treatment isn't about killing the most ants today – it's about eliminating the colony for long-term results.

Today the glue board in one of fly control units was changed as part of the scheduled pest control maintenance for one of our commercial clients based in Henbury.

As you can see, a large number of flies were captured on the this board, including a variety of different fly species & other flying insects.
This demonstrating the effectiveness and importance of the unit in monitoring and controlling flying insect activity on the premises.

It is essential that glue boards are replaced on a quarterly basis ( minimum ) to ensure the fly unit continues to operate efficiently and helps maintain a clean, hygienic, and fly-free environment.

WASPS!!!

This afternoon we competed our first wasp nest of the year, yes its that time already!

We had an enquiry this morning and were able to attend this afternoon to our customer in Horfield.

Nest was successfully treated and removed giving our customer peace of mind, and access to enjoy the sunshine in the garden.

This is a honey bee swarm—thousands of bees taking a pit stop while their scouts go house hunting 🏡

Good news:

👉 They’re just passing through
👉 Usually gone in a day or two
👉 Not looking for trouble (just a new postcode!)

Basically… it’s Airbnb, but for bees 🐝😂

This was spotted while driving through Fishponds, although not our customer we pulled over and gave them some advice on what to do.
