What’s it like inside a sewage treatment plant?

It’s not a place most people ever see, but sometimes entering the system is essential to diagnose problems and keep everything operating correctly.

For this investigation, we’re dealing with high back pressure within the treatment plant. This can indicate a blockage somewhere in the pipework or an issue with the diffuser system. To identify the cause, a full inspection of the system is required.

Accessing certain chambers means confined space entry, so all work is carried out under strict safety procedures. Our team is equipped with full confined space and fall arrest equipment, with continuous monitoring and rescue provisions in place before entry is made.

By physically entering the second chamber, we’re able to thoroughly inspect the pipework, diffusers, and associated components to pinpoint the fault and recommend the most effective solution.

While it’s not the most glamorous working environment, these investigations are often the only way to accurately diagnose issues and prevent more serious system failures down the line.

It’s new van sign writing day!

We like a well presented image and to take pride in our appearance. With a new van it ensures we can always be reliable, wherever we can invest back into the company we will. This time it was on a new van to keep us moving.

After 6 years our trusted original work horse needed an upgrade of course Jody is delighted to have a new office. Our old workhorse is now a spare van to ensure we don’t get caught out and keep being your reliable choice.

Looking forward to putting her to work and serving our customers.

What’s that we smell in the office??

It’s a gorgeous smell of positive vibes! We like to keep a calm atmosphere in our office and our new incense burner will help to relax our office staff.

It’s the little touches that all go together in providing a special service. If we are relaxed and positive it helps our customers to feel the benefits. Often our clients are distressed so a calming call can help ease pressure and offer reassurance.

As we head into the second half of the year we are becoming increasingly busy.

We can’t thank our customers enough, for choosing us as your honest and reliable drainage providers.

For WCDS it’s all about bringing trust into our trade and our lead times show our message is loud and clear.

With permits coming in sooner than expected from the Environment Agency, returning customers and new clients we find our schedule busy.

We could increase our team but we believe by keeping to a small team this offers full focus on each customer with a unique personal experience on EVERY job. We ARE different our main focus will always be our clients and the environment.

There is nothing more exciting than receiving a permit 😊

Typically permits can take upto 9 months to achieve depending on the site and design.

Our client in Wellington came to us with a failing septic tank and drainage field. We scoped the site to find a stream nearby and due to the particulars of the site a drainage field was not an option.

Our office submitted a permit application for a bespoke permit to carry out a new installation of a sewage treatment plant discharging to the stream.

Today we received the permit in short order and can now move on with the project.

We can now remove the risk of further ground pollution creating a cleaner sustainable discharge.

Betty our cat that we found living in a box in the yard a year ago.

She has come on leaps and bounds. She likes nothing more than to sit in the garden but of course avoiding the dogs!
