The living room carpet probably puts up with more than we give it credit for!

Feet up in front of the telly, children playing, snacks dropped on the floor and pets making themselves comfortable.

It all adds up over time.

Here's a living room carpet we've recently cleaned using our professional cold water extraction method.

Even when a carpet doesn't look majorly dirty, it's worth paying attention to the areas everyone walks across or sits around most often.

A good professional clean can help remove the dirt that's built up through everyday use.

Is your living room the busiest room in the house, or is it the kitchen?

Hallways and stairs definitely get their fair share of foot traffic, especially in commercial buildings!

Here's a job we carried out cleaning the carpets in a commercial premises, including the hall and stairs.

These are the sort of areas where dirt gradually builds up as people come and go throughout the day.

We use professional cold water extraction to give carpets a thorough clean without exposing them to unnecessary heat.

It's always satisfying to see a busy carpet looking cleaner and fresher again.

If you've got carpets in your office or commercial premises that could do with some attention, feel free to get in touch. Happy to have a chat.

With the wetter weather arriving, it's worth giving your doormats a bit of attention.

A decent mat at the front door can stop a surprising amount of dirt and grit being walked into your carpets. But don't forget to clean the mat itself!

Give it a good shake outside, vacuum it regularly and make sure it's not holding onto moisture.

It's a simple job that can help keep your hallway carpets looking better for longer.

And if you've got children or dogs coming in and out all day, you'll know exactly why this matters! πŸ˜‚

Something different from carpets today!

Have a look at this lovely curved seating we've been cleaning.

Light-coloured seating looks great, but it doesn't take long for marks and everyday dirt to start showing, especially when it's getting lots of use.

As you can see from the photos, there were quite a few marks on the seats that needed attention.

It's the sort of job we enjoy getting stuck into and it's always satisfying seeing furniture looking its best again.

We don't just clean carpets. We also clean upholstery for homes, pubs, restaurants and other businesses.

Got some seating that's looking a bit tired? Feel free to get in touch and we'll be happy to have a chat about it.

When was the last time you checked the filter on your hoover?

It's one of those jobs that's easy to forget, but a clogged filter can affect how well your vacuum picks up dirt.

A few things you can check are:

βœ… Empty the dust container or change the bag before it's overfull.

βœ… Check the filters and clean or replace them according to the manufacturer's instructions.

βœ… Have a look at the brush roll for tangled hair and threads.

βœ… Make sure nothing's blocking the hose.

It only takes a few minutes to check, and keeping your hoover in good condition helps it do a better job.

And remember, regular hoovering is one of the best things you can do to look after your carpets between professional cleans.

Hope that helps! 😊

It's that time of year again!

Wet shoes, muddy footprints and leaves getting walked into the house. Autumn always gives our carpets a bit of a battering!

A decent doormat and getting into the habit of taking shoes off at the door can make a real difference.

And if you've got dogs coming in and out of the garden like me, you'll know exactly what I mean!

Regular hoovering helps too, particularly around doorways where most of the dirt gets brought in.

If your carpets are starting to look a bit worse for wear after all that foot traffic, give us a shout. We're always happy to help.

Do I need to empty the whole room before you clean the carpet?

It's a question I get quite a lot.

And thankfully, no, you don't need to start dismantling the house. πŸ˜‚

If you're having your carpets professionally cleaned, it does help to move the smaller things out of the way beforehand. Things like toys, shoes, plants, lamps and anything else that's easily moved.

But don't struggle trying to shift something big or heavy just because you think you have to.

If you're not sure what needs moving before I arrive, just ask me beforehand and I'll let you know.

I'd much rather someone asked than put their back out trying to move a wardrobe!

A little bit of preparation means I can spend more of my time getting on with the actual cleaning.

It's not just carpets that can come up well with a proper clean.

These tiles were another job I've been working on recently.

Hard floors take plenty of punishment, especially in the areas we walk over every day. Over time, dirt can build up on the surface and around the grout, and you don't always notice how much the appearance has changed until you see them properly cleaned.

That's one of the things I enjoy about jobs like this. You can actually see the difference as you work across the floor.

Carpets and upholstery probably make up the photos I share most often, but I clean hard floors too.

Have a look at the photo and you'll see what I mean.

Spilt something on the carpet? Don't start scrubbing it.

It's probably the first instinct when something goes over, but scrubbing at a spill can spread it further and potentially damage the carpet fibres.

Which? recommends acting quickly, removing as much of the spill as you can and working from the outside towards the middle. It's also worth testing any cleaning product somewhere out of sight first.

And go easy on the water. More isn't always better.

If you're unsure what you're dealing with, especially on a wool or more delicate carpet, you're always welcome to send me a photo before trying something that might make it harder to remove.

Sometimes the best thing you can do with a stain is very little until you know what it is.

A good carpet clean doesn't start when the machine gets switched on.

Before I start cleaning anything, I want to know what I'm dealing with.

What type of carpet is it? What's the general condition like? Are there particular marks or areas you're concerned about? Is there anything I need to know before I get started?

It might not be the most exciting part of the job to photograph, but having a proper look first matters.

Not every carpet is the same and not every mark needs treating in the same way.

I'd much rather spend a bit of time checking things properly and talking you through what I can realistically do before I start.

Then it's on with the professional cold water extraction and hopefully a very satisfying before and after.

If you're ever unsure whether something can be cleaned, you're always welcome to send me a photo and ask.
