Very unusual pest we ran into this week - the European fat dormouse/ European edible dormouse, or Glis glis. Strange activity we were finding on site promoted to fitting a wildlife camera, where we discovered a Glis glis family was present.

We applied for our license to trap Glis glis which was authorised. We were able to resolve the issue for the customer and block the entry hole, which was 7m up on an air con pipe.

This species is invasive from europe and orginally escaped from a private zoo in Hertfordshire. Slowly they are becoming established in south east England. We were very surprised to find this species in Surrey.

This year we have seen a large increase in customers asking us for humane relocation of bumble bees. We have had multiple builders which have been prevented from working due to their presence.

We scoop up the nests, making sure that we have the queen and then relocate them to a local garden. This way the bumble bees are not causing a problem and can continue to do what they do best and help our local environment.
