I thought you might like a little update after the French Prime Minister has updated the country on the deconfinement process. The key messages are as follows:-
* The current R value in France is currently 0.77.
* No gatherings of more than 10 people in one location.
* Schools will be reopening faster than they envisaged.
* From Tuesday 2 June the following is allowed (Monday is a public holiday in France):-
- it is possible to travel more than 100km from your home address
- bars, restaurants and cafes can reopen as long as social distancing is maintained
- swimming pools, gyms and theatres can reopen as long as special instructions are followed
- monuments, museums, parks and lakes can reopen
* from 22 June cinemas can reopen
* from 26 June Orly airport will reopen
Borders are still closed. They hope to restart opening the internal European borders first and will review it on 15 June. External borders will remain for as long as necessary and will depend on the R rate in other countries. If a country quarantines French citizens, then France will adopt reciprocal requirements.
If you are a gite owner, you may have heard from your Tourist lnformation office or your Mairie, on the requirements for reopening. The government has also released requirements for hotels/holiday accommodation providers to follow with regards to hosting guests, and especially cleaning and changeover requirements. Please contact me if you need any help or guidance.
Keep Safe.
