This week marked a difficult first for my business: I experienced a situation where I felt unsafe in a client’s home. Following a minor scheduling misunderstanding, I arrived as quickly as possible to resolve the issue, but was unfortunately met with aggression and intimidating behavior.
I’m sharing this as a vital reminder to my fellow cleaning professionals: Always trust your gut. If you can bring a partner to your cleans, please do. At the very least, ensure someone knows your location at all times. No contract or amount of money is worth compromising your safety.
To our clients: Please remember that we are people behind these services. A little kindness and compassion go a long way in ensuring a safe, respectful environment for everyone.
