In April, Blanche and I would have been celebrating our 5-year anniversary. I never thought I would be celebrating her life in February. She had just turned 6 years old.

Context for this video: Blanche wasn’t feeling up for our very last walk together. Her mom suggested a car ride through nature, so I drove her down to Lynde Shores. On our way home, we stopped at Pet Valu for one last visit.

When we first met, she was a year and 3 months old and very much a full grown, “willful” puppy. We moved into the same neighbourhood within a couple of months of each other. Blanche and I explored our new home together we had adventures, ups and downs. Over these 5 years, we spent a lot of time together, developing a bond. I’m grateful every day that her family chose me to be their dog walker.

My deepest condolences to her family. Blanche will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and met her.

Saturday the temperature was -17°C, feeling like -30°C. That’s dangerous cold, the kind where it’s time to say when and only go out if absolutely necessary. Charlie needed a visit, so it was quick zoomies and a p*e outside, then back in for playtime to wear him out until his parents came home.

Rolo loves to eat snow! He's mostly blind so it's my job to make sure he eats clean snow and not too much. Too much snow can cause tummy upset.
