6 months of Hannah’s House Cleaning!!! 🧼✨
Half a year of building something that’s mine, forever grateful for every client, every referral, and every lesson along the way.
Here are 20 things I’ve learned over the last 6 months of being my own boss:
• You’re never actually “ready”—just start
• You will spend money before you make money
• Managing marketing, scheduling, invoices, payments, expenses, supplies, social media, client communication—and the actual physical work—can be overwhelming
• You have the freedom to set your own schedule and create a work-life balance that actually works for you
• You will work for “free”
• Make as many connections as possible
• Underpromise, overdeliver
• Not every client will be the right fit for you or your business—and that’s okay. Knowing when to let them go is part of building something sustainable
• Consistency beats motivation
• You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin
• Building relationships matters just as much as doing a great job
•Your clients are the foundation of your business—take care of them, and give back whenever you can.
• The small details make the biggest difference
• There will be tough days—but they don’t last
• Your phone never stops—calls and texts come in day and night, including evenings and weekends
• Never stop prioritizing your daily routines and putting yourself first
• Progress over perfection
• Celebrate the small wins
• It’s okay to learn as you go
• Work hard, play harder
