As many of our Little Wonders families know, Mocha is our sweet daycare mascot and a very loved part of our little community.

Mocha’s dad, Travis, recently found out that she has a tumour and needs surgery, along with dental X-rays and care to support her quality of life. The unexpected vet costs are around $3,000, which is a lot for any family to face suddenly.

Mocha has also had a temporary home with us at daycare when her dad has been unable to care for her, so she truly is part of the Little Wonders family too.

If anyone is able to help, share, or send positive thoughts for Mocha and Travis, it would mean so much. Every little bit helps get Mocha closer to the care she needs.

Little Wonders Daycare will have future Infant/Toddler openings beginning June 2027 as children age out of the program.

Projected availability dates:

• June 2, 2027 FILLED
• September 21, 2027
• October 1, 2027
• November 17, 2027

Important information for families considering Little Wonders:

• We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis
• Placement is based on alignment between the family and the centre, not inquiry timing
• Our program is licensed, structured, relationship-based, and not suited to every family
• Families must be comfortable with clear policies, routines, and boundaries

Enrollment decisions are made intentionally to ensure the best possible fit for children, families, and the program as a whole.

A Morning of Stories & Exploration at Little Wonders Daycare
Yesterday our little learners gathered for circle time to listen to a felt story. Felt stories are a wonderful way to support language development, imagination, and early literacy while helping children practice listening and participating as a group. The children were engaged and curious as they watched the story unfold together.

After circle time, the children explored a table-top invitation to play featuring colourful eggs, natural wood pieces, and matching cards. Activities like this encourage fine motor development, problem solving, colour recognition, and independent exploration.

At Little Wonders Daycare we love creating learning experiences that support storytelling, creativity, and hands-on discovery.

Busy Easter Weekend at Little Wonders Daycare

While the children were enjoying their Easter weekend with their families, Ms. T and Mr. Jeff were hard at work behind the scenes making improvements for our little ones.

We spent the weekend opening up our sleeping room to create a larger, calmer space for rest time. The new layout allows for more room, better supervision, and an even more peaceful environment for our children to recharge during the day.

Every change we make is with our Little Wonders in mind — creating a safe, comfortable, and nurturing space where children can learn, grow, and feel at home.

We can’t wait for the children to enjoy their new and improved rest space tomorrow!

Tomorrow, the children will be invited to explore an ocean-themed sensory experience using sand, water, and a variety of sea creatures and loose parts.

This invitation is designed to support sensory exploration, fine motor development, language building, and self-regulation. Children will be able to explore at their own pace—scooping, digging, sorting, and discovering—while engaging in calm, meaningful play.

At Little Wonders Daycare, we intentionally create learning environments that honour each child as capable, curious, and confident. These experiences allow children to learn through play while feeling safe, supported, and engaged.

This space is ideal for families needing short-term or transitional care during this time frame.

Little Wonders Daycare – Space Needed

Little Wonders Daycare is currently looking for a basement suite to rent where a licensed infant/toddler childcare program would be permitted to operate.

What we’re looking for:
• A basement suite suitable for childcare use
• Operation hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Permission to child-proof and make safety modifications as required by BC childcare licensing regulations
• Long-term rental preferred

Little Wonders Daycare is a professional, well-established childcare program that follows all licensing, safety, and insurance requirements. We take pride in maintaining respectful relationships with homeowners and neighbours and treating the space with care.
