A home renovation site in Toronto turned into a raccoon nursery.

Brian was called in after baby raccoons were found in the attic. With multiple entry points, scattered insulation, and a quiet protected space, the mother had found the perfect place to nest.

After inspection, Brian safely encouraged mom out onto the roof and removed the three kits one by one. The babies were placed into a secure baby box nearby so mom could return and relocate them to a new home.

A tough attic job with a safe and humane outcome. The SWAT way!

A skunk family had made a home underneath this backyard shed.

Jonny located the entry point, trenched the perimeter, and installed protective mesh to properly seal off the old den. During the process, the babies were placed nearby so the mother could relocate them safely.

Mom was not ready to leave. She tried bringing one of the babies back under the shed, but the exclusion was already in place and working exactly as intended.

A clear example of why baby season jobs take patience, timing, and proper installation.

Sometimes you build the perfect plan… and wildlife chooses a different one.

Brian set up a custom baby ladder after seeing that the young were old enough to move around and had already been out with their mother. Using wood and mesh, he created a safe way for the babies to climb out if needed.

It was a smart, humane setup designed to keep the babies safe.

But mom had other plans and took the roof instead.

Another reminder that wildlife keeps every job interesting.

Some wildlife jobs come down to timing, patience, and experience.

Rand-man was called to a site where a raccoon mother and her babies were hidden in an extremely tight corner. Access was difficult, and the situation could have become even more complicated if the mother moved the babies deeper into the space.

After carefully working with the mother and giving her time to move away, Rand-man was able to safely retrieve the babies and relocate them outside.

When the situation feels impossible, SWAT Wildlife has the experience to handle it properly.

DIY Files, but this time it’s a SWAT-approved build.

Jonny was on a Hamilton roof monitoring a one-way door system over a roof vent and needed a sturdy way to position the trail camera.

So he built a custom tripod using a sealant tube. Simple, effective, and positioned perfectly to capture activity at the entry point.

Sometimes the job calls for experience, creativity, and whatever works best in the moment. The SWAT way!

Over 50 years of experience on one fox den job 🦊

Derick, Tony, Rand-man, and the crew were called to a property where a fox family had built a den beneath a deck with multiple entry points. The area had become a neighbourhood talking point, with the mother and kits coming and going from the burrow system.

Foxes are excellent diggers and will often choose protected spaces like decks, sheds, and quiet backyard structures to raise their young. Once a den is established, the area can quickly become difficult to manage without the right approach.

SWAT secured the deck, installed a one-way door system, and used a trail cam to monitor activity before sealing the area properly. The goal is always to protect the property while allowing the animals to move on safely and humanely.

Large den site. Proper exclusion. Humane outcome. The SWAT way!

A very cute discovery under this shed. 🦨

Jonny responded to a property where skunks had burrowed underneath a shed and created a nesting area. During inspection, he located the entry point, the nest, and his very first litter of skunk babies.

This video gives a look at the nesting setup beneath the shed and the adorable little kits hidden inside.

One of the strangest hiding spots yet.

Tech Tony found baby raccoons hidden inside a giant ceramic pot in an old crawl space cellar.

Meanwhile he may have actually just stumbled upon an underground raccoon pasta factory🍝🦝

Weird hiding spot or not, wildlife will use almost any protected space during baby season.

We will always find them.

A serious rat infestation required a serious solution.

Brian and Derick were called to a property where rats had completely contaminated a utility room containing the home’s water heater and other systems. The area was filled with f***s, urine, nesting debris, and a strong odor caused by long-term activity.

The SWAT team completed a full remediation and deep disinfection of the space before locating the underground entry point the rats were using to access the room. Once identified, the opening was properly sealed to prevent future infestations.

At SWAT Wildlife, we don’t just clean up the mess, we solve the source of the problem too.

A condo balcony is not the ideal place for a squirrel family.

Jonny was called to a Hamilton condo where a mother squirrel and her kits had settled in on the balcony. The mother was extremely protective and did everything she could to keep Jonny away from her babies.

With patience and control, Jonny safely gathered the kits and relocated them to a nearby tree so they could reunite with their mother naturally.

The squirrel family gets a safer new spot, and the condo owners get their balcony back for the summer.
