[The Foil Hack - Part 2 of 3] Stop overthinking your print processes and start breaking the rules. ๐๐ฅ
If you are a print shop owner, operator, or designer, stop scrolling.
We just discovered a massive premium metallic hack using a wet thumb and a laminator accident.
In Part 1, our white toner foil experiment was a bit of a bust. It lacked that premium, high-end pop we were chasing and the colors just felt muddy. ๐
But then we stumbled onto a literal happy accident in the shop. We noticed that soft touch lamination completely mutes the shine of a silver foil sheet, making it look like standard matte paper. ๐
Here is the exact scrappy formula we accidentally discovered:
๐ Laminate raw metallic or holographic foil with soft touch film.
๐ Print CMYK toner DIRECTLY over the lamination.
๐ Watch the wax toner cancel out the matte finish to reveal the shine.
We even tested it on holographic foil using a crazy dual-layer printing method. We are getting so close to reverse-engineering a massively expensive embellishment system using just the gear in our shop! ๐ฅ
But we still need more POP to make it perfect. You can watch the full experiment and see the final jaw-dropping result right here. ๐
