Easily Round up Pet Hairs With a Squeegee!

Vacuuming is one of those boring daily tasks that's made even worse when there are pet hairs all over the place! We all love our pets, but pet hairs can drive even the most ardent animal lovers around the bend. Believe it or not, the answer might be your old squeegee. You just run the squeegee across your carpet in one direction, using firm and even pressure. The rubber blade will create static electricity that attracts and collects pet hairs from your carpet. This DIY hack is a great way to keep your carpets clean.

De-funk your dishwasher! 🍽️

Just like the other appliances in your home, dishwashers require regular cleaning, and it's best to give your dishwasher a deep clean — including an alkaline wash and drain trap scrub — once a month. One way to do this is to fill a dishwasher-safe cup or bowl with white vinegar and place it on the upper rack of your dishwasher. Afterwards, run the (otherwise-empty) dishwasher on the hottest setting. If you don't like the smell of vinegar, you can also opt to sprinkle one cup of baking soda along the bottom of your dishwasher and rinse on a hot-water cycle instead.

To clean your drain trap, remove and disassemble it and — once it's apart — use a sponge or toothbrush and dish soap to remove any stuck-on food bits or mold!

Make your bathroom sparkle 💖

To clean grimy grout, use a commercial grout cleaner or mix three-quarters of a cup household chlorine bleach with one gallon water and use a stiff brush to apply to one small area at a time. (Wear rubber gloves and eye protection.) Let it sit for several minutes, then scrub and rinse!

Make your white shirts bright again 👕

To keep your whites truly white, sponge white vinegar on sweat stains, then pretreat with an enzyme prewash stain remover like Carbona or a liquid enzyme detergent like Tide. Then, wash on the hottest cycle safe for the fabric, adding either regular Clorox or a fabric-safe bleach for especially stubborn marks!

Remove buildup in your humidifier!

Think about it: The water that makes your humidifier run smoothly is also a breeding ground for mold and microbes. To clean a humidifier, pour two cups of undiluted white vinegar into the water tank and swish it around until wet. Place the vinegar-filled tank on the base and allow it to drain into the reservoir for 15 to 20 minutes. Empty it and use a small brush to scrub crevices, removing remaining buildup. Keep in mind, however, that it's always best to follow the manufacturer's cleaning directions, as humidifiers can differ. 😊

Soften fuzzy towels 🧖‍♀️

If you've got hard water, mineral buildup can make your towels extra scratchy. To lift deposits, wash the towels in the hottest water possible with a half cup to a cup of a water softener, like Calgon Water Softener, and a half cup of ammonia. Skip the detergent and any other laundry additives!

Banish stray marks from coloring time! 🖍️🖍️🖍️

Toothpaste can help remove marker stains from wood, a handy trick to have in your back pocket if you've got creative kids. Apply it lightly with a fingertip, rubbing gently in a circular motion. Wipe clean and repeat if needed. Finish with a coat of polish to shine and protect the wood!

Easily buff out floor scuffs;
Protect your hardwood by removing small marks with a sock or a clean tennis ball. To erase bigger scuffs, add a little baking soda to a damp cloth and gently rub. Then rinse with a damp paper towel and dry! 🎾 🧦
