Each time you shower, steam and water keep the curtain damp, while soap scum and body oils feed the growth.

• Spread out the curtain after each shower so it dries faster.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Clean Shower Curtain Mold
You don’t need fancy tools to tackle mold on your shower curtain. Most supplies are already in your home:

1. Remove the Curtain: Take the shower curtain or liner off the rod and lay it flat.

2. Shake Off Loose Mold: If you see dry spots of mold, shake them off outside to avoid spreading spores indoors.

3. Pre-Soak in Vinegar or Baking Soda: Fill a bathtub with warm water. Add 1 cup of white vinegar or ½ cup of baking soda. Soak the curtain for 30 minutes.

4. Scrub the Curtain: Use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub away the mold, especially at the bottom edge.

5. Wash in the Machine: If machine-washable, toss it in with mild detergent and a few towels. Use warm water on a gentle cycle.
