I'm posting this the old fashioned way as I don't think my reel version of this is working very well! I made this a few years ago, in a gorgeous embroidered cotton from Thailand. Originally I used a strip of pale yellow fabric as a trim but it never really looked that great, so I took the dress out of rotation. You can see the before version on the last 2 images.

Fast forward to last year, and I bought some gorgeous trims whilst visiting Oaxaca. Even though I didn't have this dress in mind when I bought the trims, one of them was the perfect match.

Now, I really like this dress and I think that I'm going to wear it a lot 😊

I couldn't resist doing a roundup of Me Made May 2026. My focus for this year was to try and wear some of my lesser worn me made clothes as well change things up a bit for the ones that I wear more frequently. I spend most of May at work so it isn't truly representative of my wardrobe Me Made or otherwise.

Any favourite outfits there? My lengthened that I upcycled from robe and my Mexican print got the most compliments in real life and I'm happy to wear them to work rather than keep them for a special occasion, otherwise I'd never wear them 😂

Me Made May Day 31 and the last day of a month wearing and recording wearing at least one me made item of clothing.

Today I'm wearing an old favourite in a slightly faded fabric with great recovery that I bought when I lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I've been wearing some clothes that I don't wear that often to see if I still enjoy wearing them, and I've realised that I've put weight on so they don't all fit in the same way as before. We've got one more year in Mexico, so this time next year I'll be making decisions around which clothes I keep. For now, I'll keep them all as my body could change again, and that's OK.

Congratulations if you took part in - I only made one new item of clothing, but hope I get some more sewing done in the next month or 2 😊

Me Made May Day 30 and fresh out of the shower relatively early on a Saturday morning. After a crazy week at work, and socialising last night, I'm looking forward to a weekend of catching up on my studying and possibly watching Devil Wears Prada 2.

My top is an older
That I shortened from tunic length and have worn much more since then. Grey isn't normally my choice of colour to wear, but I find this cooler mid grey a pretty colour and since my natural hair colour is grey (when not still wet like today), I think it looks quite nice. My lined white shorts are from Day 16.

Have a lovely weekend and well done to those of you all taking part in

Me Made May Day 29 and once a month students leave after lunchtime and we stay for our CPD (Continuous Professional Development). We have the option to wear jeans, but I'm not much of a jean wearer.

I am wearing the top part of my - the that I made with fabric that I bought in Oaxaca, Mexico.

I wear the matching trousers more frequently - together or separately, so today I wanted to wear the top and make it suitable for work. I think I succeeded 🤷‍♀️

Me Made May Day 28 and almost at the end of the month. I'm wearing my new made that I made and wore on Saturday, and I did tighten the elastic in the end, and they feel better for it. I bought the shirt fabric online when I lived in Beijing and got a tailor when we moved to Guangzhou to make it. I wear it a lot and I love the colours and the feather print.

Busy day at work which involved me delivering an afternoon training session to the Secondary teachers, but it is Friday tomorrow - yay 😊

Me Made May Day 27 and I'm wearing my rhubarb print . I bought the largest size of this limited edition Marimekko and Ikea collaboration robe a couple of years ago when I lived in Kuala Lumpur. I really should wear this dress more as I always get positive comments about it. I think whilst I Iove the print, I find the scale of it to be so much bigger than what I usually wear.

I'm also showing you all my gorgeous work bag from . My family bought me this gorgeous sustainable leather and fire-hose back pack for my 50th birthday 2 and a half years ago and I use it every day for work. 50% of their profits are donated to The Fire Fighters Charity too.

Me Made May day 26. Another cooler, overcast day today, so apologies for the dark video in my husband's classroom but it was taken just before the heavens opened. Perfect weather for my crochet tank top or vest though.

I always get lovely comments when I wear it, especially from my male colleagues, and as I live on the other side of the world to my mum, it is nice to wear it to feel closer to her. I'm very envious of people that can crochet and knit - so if that's you, you have my utmost respect.

My M&S linen trousers are more faded than they appear, but I have altered them - I shortened them and added elastic in the back waistband, which I'm trying but failing to show in the video 😂

Me Made May Day 25 and it is a cooler day here in Mexico City.

I'm wearing my upcycled again. Apologies for the slightly longer video but I wanted to show that when I unpicked the trousers to upcycle them I left the side seams and pockets in tact.

I'm wearing the trousers with the shirt that I originally bought them for. It is part of a gorgeous 2 piece (with a pleated skirt) that I bought when I lived in Guangzhou. I love the print, but found it difficult to match the separates with anything in my wardrobe. However, even after upcycling these burgundy trousers I'm still disappointed in them because the fabric is such bad quality.

Anyway, take a look at my stories for the hail storm - it was preceded by incredibly loud thunder and lots of lightening! Rainy season is in full swing.
