Look how cute!!

A friend of mine owns her own small business and made this custom toolbox for Rooms Renewed. I’m obsessed. She took a regular Mastercraft toolbox and completely transformed it. Right down to the Rooms Renewed logo, my slogan, the pink finish, and the floral lined drawers.

And it’s not just cute.. it’s actually going to work! I’ve already started filling it with all those little cleaning tools that are forever floating around in my supplies: detail brushes, scrubbers, crevice tools, pumice stones and all the other little things I reach for during cleans.

There’s something extra special about one small business creating something for another. And I’m SO happy with how this turned out.

Go give Legacy of Love Creations some love and check out her work! 🩷

I’m not ashamed to say I clean toilets for a living 🤷‍♀️

It’s honest work, it helps my clients, and it’s part of a business I built myself.

So hand me that toilet brush. I’m getting into ALL the little details.

Something you might not realize happens behind the scenes at Rooms Renewed:

My shoes get cleaned between clients, too.

I have dedicated shoes that I wear while cleaning. Before they enter the next client’s home, I clean the soles.

This photo is the perfect example of why. Look at how much can collect underneath without you even realizing it!

Cross-contamination doesn’t only happen with cleaning cloths and tools. What’s on our feet matters too.

From kitchens and living spaces to bedrooms.. and all those little details in between. I love getting to leave a home feeling fresh, clean and reset.

This is the kind of before-and-after you don't necessarily need a "before" photo to appreciate.

That feeling when the potential client from the walkthrough officially signs on.

There’s something so exciting about turning a walkthrough into a new client. 🥰

POV: You aren't home during service and an absolute banger comes on my playlist.. Honestly. even if you are home, too 👀😂

The clean might be finished… but my workday isn’t!

When I leave a client’s house, there’s a whole other side of Rooms Renewed that happens behind the scenes.

The time you see is the time I spend cleaning your home. The time you don’t see?

Washing, drying & folding loads of cleaning rags
Cleaning and disinfecting my tools and equipment
Washing mop heads, buckets and reusable supplies
Refilling all of my spray bottles
Checking inventory and replenishing stock
Shopping for products and supplies
Unloading, reorganizing and packing everything back up for the next clean
Answering messages and scheduling clients
Bookkeeping and other administrative work
Taking photos, editing and creating content for my business page

Sometimes I joke that I leave work… just to go home and work for Rooms Renewed some more!

But the behind-the-scenes work is important. It means the rags I bring into your home are freshly washed, my reusable tools have been cleaned and disinfected, my products are stocked, and my kit is ready to go.

When you're a solo business owner, you're the cleaner, laundry department, inventory manager, equipment maintenance crew, receptionist, scheduler, marketing department and bookkeeper.. all rolled into one!

There are a lot of hours that never happen inside a client’s home, but they're still a huge part of providing the service that I do.

It’s the first week back, and with one kiddo starting JK and one in Grade 1, BOTH have already been hit with the back-to-school illness 😅 Because sharing really is caring!

As a mom and the sole cleaner behind Rooms Renewed, this may mean some temporary disruptions to my cleaning schedule while I take care of the little ones (and try to not get sick myself).

If your service is affected, I will reach out to you directly as soon as possible. I’ll always do my best to keep disruptions to a minimum, but I also don’t want to risk bringing illness into my clients’ homes.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we navigate the back-to-school germs!

One thing about me... I’m going to find a way.

I bring my own tools and supplies for a reason, including my portable shower head setup! It makes rinsing tubs and showers SO much easier when there isn’t a detachable shower head available.

Sometimes the little tools make the biggest difference when you’re trying to get into every corner and rinse everything down properly.

Fingerprints, smudges and that dull, cloudy film can really take away from stainless steel. A little attention to detail brought this fridge right back to a clean, polished finish.

Sometimes the biggest difference isn't removing a huge mess. It's getting rid of all those little marks that build up over time.

No fancy stainless steel polish needed. Believe it or not, all I use is mineral oil!

Another example of why I'm a less-is-more cleaner.
