Certified Master Restorer/Cleaner (IICRC)
Former Quality Control Officer (NHS, UK.) My name is Anthony (Tony) Pickering and I have been in the cleaning and construction industry for 25 yrs. Within that time, I have been blessed to be employed at two hospitals in two different countries (Canada & Wales) and I have had the privilege to work alongside some of the best medical professionals and I took
the opportunities to learn from them and apply the knowledge to my craft, within the cleaning industry and now incorporate it into my cleaning business. I was employed at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, Wales, I started my tenure at a time when MRSA and C-difficile was it its peak. At that time, the Royal Gwent Hospitals emergency department was due to be closed, due to its cleanliness/hygiene problems from the Welsh Assembly, I seized the opportunity, and it didn't take me long to bring the department back to NHS standards, and the department stayed open. Educating myself on these diseases and incorporated them into my cleaning skills and routines, became an asset. I was tasked to write a cleaning audit and then became a quality control auditor. I was employed at the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario, after I just donated my kidney to my son and during the height of Covid (no vaccines) to give back with my experience for the care of my son, whilst on dialysis. I have been a lead technician with a restoration/cleaning company. I was a lead supervisor during the emergency cleaning of a cruise ship due to an outbreak of Norovirus. Supervised the cleaning of Rogers Arena (home of the professional hockey team, Vancouver Canucks). Lead technician when the Four Seasons Hotel (Vancouver) flooded (40 floors). The lead technician, when the University of the Fraser Valley flooded. Cleaning supervisor for R.F Brookes (Rogerstone, Wales). Responsible for the cleanliness and sterilization of food production lines, with other projects in my career. During that time, I have been accredited as a Master Cleaner/Restorer, with international accreditation and will be taking a course (Trauma scene clean-up) in the very near future. Kindest regards.
