A few weeks ago, we set up a demo railing at in Peterborough to show off some great products! 🪶🪟 The dark coloured markers are specifically for glass railings and other “fly-through” scenarios. This differs from the light markers that are designed for reflective windows. ⚫️⚪️

Check it out next time you’re in the area. There are some DIY kits available for purchase at Monaghan Lumber, or contact us directly if you’re interested in a larger scale project being done at your home or workplace. 🏢🕊️

🌟 We are excited to announce, we have a winner! 🌟 The 2024 Kawartha Lakes Bird of the Year has been announced, and we're thrilled to share that the Osprey has taken the crown!
After receiving our Bird Friendly City Certification earlier this year, we teamed up with Bird Friendly Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes to hold an exciting online poll. Over 500 bird enthusiasts from our community participated, casting their votes to determine which bird should be honored as the official 2024 Kawartha Lakes Bird of the Year.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this contest a success. Let's continue to celebrate and protect our feathered friends and the natural beauty of Kawartha Lakes together! 🌿💙

Spirit had vacation during the cold winter months, and has completed a molt. She is now being re-trained and prepared for our busy work season. 🦅

Some of you may remember, but for the new faces here.. Spirit is last year’s baby from our breeding pair, Curly and Cheyenne. It was our first breeding season, so it is very cool to have come full circle and be sending this year’s babies home with other falconers later this year! 😁

This spring has been incredibly busy and we are grateful! 🐣🌿

It is definitely time for an update on the Harris Hawk chicks. We had four eggs that were pulled and placed in an incubator. We had two chicks that were hand-raised in a brooder before being placed back in with their parents, Cheyenne and Curly. 🦅

The two chicks are thriving! They are starting to stand up and their beautiful dark feathers are becoming more prominent. ❤️

They both have falconers ready to pick them up later this summer! 😁
