It may say spring on the calendar, but outside feels like a quiet winter encore… chilly air, soft snow, and that damp hush that calls us back indoors.
So we answer in the loveliest way we know how—by filling our home with warmth. A slow-simmered pot of beef stew, rich and comforting, topped with tender dumplings (or doughboys, depending on where your story begins).
The windows may frost, but inside… it’s all gentle heat, savory scents, and that cozy kind of magic that lingers long after the last spoonful. 🤍

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and heart of women everywhere. 💐

Women are leaders, caregivers, builders, dreamers, and the steady hands that keep homes, families, and communities moving forward. The quiet work, the hard work, the behind-the-scenes work — it all matters, and it deserves to be recognized.

At Sunday Best, we are grateful for the incredible women we meet every day — the ones balancing busy homes, careers, families, and everything in between. Your strength inspires us, and it is always a privilege to support the spaces where your lives unfold.

Here’s to women supporting women, lifting each other up, and creating spaces filled with care, calm, and possibility.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🌸

March Break is almost here in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick — and if you’re already wondering, “What are we going to do all week?” … we’ve got you 🤍

Welcome to our Sunday Best March Break Mini Series — simple, sweet, memory-making recipes you can make withthe kids (not just for them).

First up:✨ Cinnamon Sugar Donuts — the 20-minute kitchen adventure ✨
Minimal ingredients. Maximum fun. Just a little flour on tiny fingers and the happiest cinnamon-sugar smiles.

You’ll Need:• 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (Southern Style or Buttermilk)• Vegetable oil (for frying) or an air fryer• 1/2 cup granulated sugar• 1 tablespoon cinnamon• Optional: melted butter for brushing

Let the Kids Help With:♡ Cutting the donut holes (the little middles are their reward!) or if you want to be like us and save time we didn’t do the holes♡ Mixing the cinnamon + sugar♡ Tossing the warm donuts in the sugary goodness♡ Taste-testing… obviously

Directions:
1 Open the biscuit dough and cut a small hole in the centre of each biscuit to create a donut shape. (Save the middles for bonus donut bites!)
2 Cook two ways:• Air Fryer: 325°F for about 6 minutes.• Fry: 350–375°F oil, 1–2 minutes per side until golden.
3 While still warm, brush lightly with melted butter (optional) and toss in cinnamon sugar until fully coated.

Serve with hot chocolate, tea, or a little living-room picnic blanket moment. Because March Break doesn’t have to mean elaborate outings every day. Sometimes it’s a cozy kitchen, music playing, and letting them shake a bowl of sugar like it’s the most important job in the world ✨

And when the week feels full (in the best way), Sunday Best is here to bring the calm back — light tidying, laundry folded, fresh beds made — so you can enjoy the break right alongside them 🤍

Oh, there is something so hopeful about starting seeds while the world outside is still wrapped in frost. 🌿

✨ In New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, where winter lingers just a little longer, seed starting feels like a quiet act of faith — a soft promise that spring will return.

Here’s your gentle guide to beginning.

🌱 What You’ll Need
• Seed trays or small pots (even egg cartons will do in a pinch)• Seed-starting mix (light and airy — never heavy garden soil)• A spray bottle for misting• Grow lights or your sunniest south-facing window• Labels (trust us — you will forget what is what)• Patience… and a cup of tea nearby

🌿 When to Start
In our Maritime climate, most vegetables and flowers are started 6–10 weeks before the last frost (typically late May for many areas).
Now is a beautiful time to begin:• Onions & leeks• Snapdragons• Peppers• Early herbs

Later in March, you can welcome tomatoes, brassicas, and more tender blooms.

✨ How to Begin
1 Fill trays with damp (not soggy) seed-starting mix.
2 Plant seeds according to depth instructions (many simply need a light covering).
3 Mist gently.
4 Place under grow lights for 14–16 hours daily. (Our northern light needs a little help.)
5 Keep soil consistently moist — think soft spring rain, not April puddles.
Within days or weeks, the tiniest green threads will appear — and truly, nothing feels more luxurious than that first sprout against a snowy backdrop.

At Sunday Best, we believe in creating space for these small, beautiful rituals. While your seedlings stretch toward the light, we can be refreshing linens, folding laundry, light tidying, and giving your home that soft, airy calm that makes room for growing season.

Because tending a home — and tending a garden — should feel gentle, never rushed.

Spring is coming, dear ones. Let’s begin. 🌷

When winter still lingers and the evenings arrive a little too early, we lean into the comfort of a true one-pot wonder.

This cozy Turkey & Dumplings is one of our Sunday Best go-tos — the kind of meal that simmers softly on the stove while candles flicker and the kettle hums. It’s warm, hearty, and feels like a gentle exhale after a long winter’s day.

Because cozy isn’t just a feeling — it’s a rhythm. And we love helping you find yours.

Imagine coming home to this:
🥕 Tender carrots, celery & onion sautéed in butter🍲 Rich beef consommé broth, seasoned simply🦃 Hearty turkey and green beans folded in✨ Fluffy parsley-kissed dumplings steaming on top
All in one beautiful Dutch oven. Minimal dishes. Maximum comfort.

Our Sunday Best Turkey & Dumplings

You’ll Need:8 medium carrots, 1-inch chunks4 celery ribs, 1-inch chunks1 cup chopped onion½ cup butter2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed beef consommé4⅔ cups water, divided2 tsp salt¼ tsp pepper3 cups cooked turkey, cubed2 cups frozen green beans½ cup flour2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Dumplings:1½ cups flour2 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt2 tbsp minced parsley⅛ tsp poultry seasoning¾ cup 2% milk1 egg

How to Create the Magic:
1 In a Dutch oven, sauté carrots, celery & onion in butter for 10 minutes.
2 Add consommé, 4 cups water, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer 15 minutes until tender.
3 Stir in turkey & beans; cook 5 minutes.
4 Whisk flour, Worcestershire & remaining water until smooth. Stir in and simmer until thickened.
5 For dumplings, combine dry ingredients. Stir milk & egg together, then fold in gently.
6 Drop spoonfuls onto simmering stew.
Cover and do not lift the lid for 20 minutes.
Serve warm. Add tea. Light the candle.

And if winter feels full — schedules, clutter, endless to-dos — let us give you back your time. A tidy home, a thoughtfully prepared space, a little breathing room… that’s where the true luxury lives.

Cozy meals. Calm homes.
That’s the Sunday Best way. 🤍

Meal Prep Monday, but make it effortless ✨Because who doesn’t love a one-pot wonder that feeds you all week and keeps the kitchen calm? This cozy taco-inspired pasta is hearty, comforting, and perfect for busy weeks when you want something homemade without the chaos. Minimal dishes, maximum flavour—Sunday Best approved.

🌮🍝 One-Pot Taco Pasta
Ingredients• 1 tbsp olive oil• 1 white onion, finely chopped• 1 red bell pepper, chopped• 1 lb lean ground beef (or 12 oz Impossible Meat)• 2 tbsp homemade taco seasoning (or 1 packet)• 1 tsp smoked or sweet paprika• 1 tsp ground cumin• 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes• 1 (4 oz) can chopped green chilis• 8 oz elbow pasta• 2 cups beef or vegetable broth• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese• ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped• 2 tbsp fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)• 1 tbsp hot sauce, optional• Salt, to taste

Optional toppingsChopped green onions, sour cream, lime wedges

Method1️⃣ Sauté & brownIn a large pot over medium-high heat, warm the olive oil. Add onion and bell pepper and cook until just softened, about 2 minutes. Add ground beef and break it up with a spoon. Reduce heat to medium and cook until mostly browned, 3–5 minutes. (Plant-based meat will take closer to 2–3 minutes.) Drain excess grease if needed.
2️⃣ Build the flavourStir in taco seasoning, paprika, cumin, diced tomatoes, and green chilis (with their juices). Add dry pasta and toss to coat. Pour in broth and stir well.
3️⃣ SimmerBring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 13–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
4️⃣ Finish with loveRemove from heat and stir in cheddar until melted. Add cilantro, lime juice, and hot sauce if using. Taste and season with salt as needed.
Let rest for 3–5 minutes to thicken, then serve topped with green onions, sour cream, and an extra squeeze of lime.

Perfect for busy Mondays, cozy nights, and lunches you’ll actually look forward to 💛
