As Disability Pride Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that celebrating inclusion, accessibility, and the incredible contributions of people with disabilities is something we do every day, not just in July.

At ICAN Independence Centre and Network, we are proud to walk alongside the people we support as they pursue independence, achieve their goals, and remain connected to their communities. Through personal support, independent living services, rehabilitation programs, and advocacy, we’re here to help create opportunities where everyone can thrive.

While Disability Pride Month may be coming to an end, our commitment to breaking down barriers, promoting accessibility, and empowering independence continues every day of the year.

HUGE thank you to NISA/Northern Initiative for Social Action for their generous donation of quilting and sewing supplies to ICAN. Sewing needles, thread, fabric, tools, even a sewing machine!! Who knew a childhood classic could turn into such a fun team challenge? 💙

We had an absolute blast playing Hungry Hungry Hippos! Activities like these aren't just about having fun (although there was plenty of laughter). They also encourage teamwork, movement, problem-solving, and social connection in an engaging and inclusive way.

Seeing everyone smiling and celebrating each other's successes is what it's all about. 👏🏻

At ICAN, we know that caring for yourself helps you show up for the people and things that matter most. Whether you're a client, caregiver, family member, or staff member, remember that your well-being matters.
