Just waiting to pick up my hardware from 🔥 safe storage for this set of working weight Bison round bottoms ...

This is a beautiful hide but because it was on the smaller side the top grain is vastly different (from left to right) giving it an appearance of being mismatched. I thought about making other things with it but its just such NICE chap leather.

⚓️5/6 oz Bison in cognac
⚓️5/6 oz oil tan semi firm medium fringe (drk brown)
⚓️Double yoke
⚓️Single thigh
⚓️Back belt, lined, double stitched, laced in
⚓️Steel buckles front & back
⚓️Slightly more coverage on the side of thigh for wind/rain/snow protection
⚓️Stitched in dark brown
⚓️Triple buckle thigh - - (aprox) 22 - 28 inches
⚓️Rustic finish - all edges beveled, sanded, wax sealed

Well, after spending 30 minutes trying to write something eloquent, I’m just going to speak from the heart!

A huge thank you to Beef in BC for the amazing Artist Spotlight feature! It is such an honor to be included for so many reasons. My canvas is bovine, I love cattle in all forms 🐮🥩, and many of the chaps I make go right back into the cycle of caring for working herds.

Knowing those pieces will be passed down to the next generation—living on long after I’m gone—is incredible. And when they’re finally beyond repair, the leather returns to the dirt, leaving only the hardware behind. At the risk of sounding like a total dork... I think that’s pretty darn cool.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way, pushed me to refine my work, and reassured me that while I might be crazy for taking this path, you believed in me anyway! 🤣

I'm not slowing down anytime soon. There’s only one way to go from here: up. (And who knows... maybe that saddle build is coming sooner than you think 😉)

Contrary to popular belief, I dont keep very much of what I make... 😆

The scars on this hide were invisible until I had finished tooling, and oiled them... I also conveniently 😉 had some vintage Frank Principe spurs 'hanging around' that I just didnt have the perfect straps for. I probably should have photographed them on my 'good' boots, but my riding boots needed a deep conditioning (which I clearly rarely do🤣🤦🏽‍♀️) and maybe, just maybe its also time for a new pair 🤔.... nah... not quite yet 🤣...

Going to head to the IPE tomorrow (thursday) for the day then catch the rodeo in the evening. If youre around lemme know and we can catch up!

Are you going to the IPE? Whats your favorite thing that keeps you going back? Mine is the animals and agriculture... 🥰

- Hermann Oak leather full tooled yokes & cuff
- scalloped dark TEAL underlay
- 8 different snowflakes
- silver/copper/brass dots throughout
- large left side pocket
- step in style

My inspiration for this set was 'ugly Christmas sweater' but make it cool, -and in leather🤣... this set is available and will be coming to the makers market in Barrier if they are still around!

Aprox size med/large depending on what you want to wear under them(snow pants vs jeans)... pm for exact measurments.
