We framed this detached and addition then the winter was long and intense. We're back now.

Last week everything was insulated with a flash & batt (r12 sprayfoam + r14 rockwool). End of last week we boarded/taped + primed the floor + set the uncoupling membrane.

Today, we coated and pre-cut the floor: herringbone to match the kitchen we had previously done for cohesion into the new space. In-floor heat cable was run today and this will be a smooth install tomorrow after finish coat and second side angles are complete.

Then ready for paint, trim and millwork!

Had a leftover tile, went for a mitered shelf to seemlessly match.

Had a decent stretch of wall on this addition and something just didn't look right. We decided to bring in an existing element with the full grade height bay/oriel buildout to keep it cohesive and charming. A tad oversized, the plan is to chase the eave/frieze/corbel details and unite the old with the new. Without the brick, the entire exterior will get some tasteful period specific trims to, once again, make the addition feel as though it were always there.

We had some clients go full rustic on this mainfloor renovation. It was a splendid challenge as these repurposed barn beams were not straight, square, uniform or basically anything easy to work with. We went with mortise-tenon and shoulder connections with dowels wherever it was possible. A few GRK's were necessary as timber framing is certainly a challenge with an existing floor above. Very thankful to these clients for the opportunity, as the space is truly a rustic stunner.

Another mainfloor/kitchen reno. Lots of plaster repair on this one. Those old entry light valences are something else. Removed the plaster cove at the ceiling to try and stretch out this space visually, removed some walls and bumped out the kitchen for some built-ins.

Sweet basement project on the go with wicked clients. They chose an 80/20 colour split on these tiles to try and match some existing exposed brick walls inside this 1856 stone home. Trying to mimic the brick floor look of an era far gone while gaining the durability of porcelain.
