Does your flue look like this? A stellar example creasote build up blocking 80% of the flow, creating a slow fire. Usually due to green wood or wet wood burning but the owner swore they burned only quality Redgum. Even so, this one was just a single year of build up, and it was also blocked at the base of flue. The last photo is the result after cleaning.
If your fire is slow, glass is black, or some smoke comes out the door when opening it, this could be your issue. Give me a bell and I’ll check it out for you.
