Pantries don't always get the attention they deserve.

They're dark, they're busy and things get knocked over, pushed to the back and forgotten about. Before long, dust, dirt, food residue and the occasional unwanted visitor can all start building up.

This pantry had a bit of everything: orange grime, dust, dirt and plenty of dead bugs hiding in the corners.

So we emptied it out, got stuck into the buildup and gave the whole space a proper clean.

The difference is pretty satisfying.

• Built-up grime removed
• Dust and dirt cleared away
• Shelves and surfaces cleaned
• Corners and edges tackled
• Dead bugs and debris removed

Now it's a clean space ready to be filled back up!

Most people don't realise their vacuum filters need regular cleaning and some never clean them at all.

As filters become clogged with dust and fine debris, your vacuum can lose suction, work harder, become less efficient and potentially blow fine particles back into the air.

How often you need to clean or replace your filters depends on the vacuum and how often you use it, so always check the manufacturer's recommendations. As a general reminder, giving them some attention every 1–3 months is a good place to start.

A vacuum can't do its job properly if it can't breathe.

Lauramine Oxide:

• Is a pure substance made only of itself
• Is found in bathroom cleaners, dishwashing liquids, disinfectants and degreasers.
• Chemicals with Lauramine Oxide cannot be used on anything that requires low foam.

When using Lauramine oxide, no PPE is required but gloves are recommended

Rust stains can look like they're going to be a nightmare to remove.

This laundry tub had some pretty noticeable rust staining, but thankfully it wasn't as stubborn as it looked.

A little oven cleaner, a quick wipe and they came straight off.

• Rust stains removed
• Built-up grime cleaned away
• Laundry tub left looking fresh again

Sometimes the jobs that look the worst are surprisingly easy to fix.

One of the most overlooked areas when cleaning floors is underneath the mats.

Dirt, dust and moisture can become trapped between the mat and the floor, particularly around entrances and wet areas. Over time, that trapped moisture can contribute to mould, unpleasant odours, staining and even damage to some flooring types.

Every now and then, lift your mats, clean underneath them and allow both the mat and the floor to dry completely before putting them back.

It only takes a moment, but it can make a big difference to the condition of your floors.
