Eight years ago TODAY, we were asked to clean a deceased estate that had been left untouched for nearly three years. The place was heavy with dust and cobwebs, brushing across our faces as we moved through each room. Despite the condition, we committed to doing the job properly and with respect, giving it everything we had.

While I was cleaning, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we were being watched. It wasn’t fear, more a quiet presence. We finished the unit to the very best of our ability and even harvested some fruit from the backyard that would otherwise have gone to waste.

That night, I had a dream. A gentle, lovely lady and her partner were standing at the front of the house, smiling and waving at us, as if to say thank you. When I woke up, the feeling stayed with me. I wrote an email to the lady who had arranged the job and described the couple I saw in my dream. She replied saying it was likely her mum had reunited with her partner in heaven.

That moment stayed with me deeply.

Since then, it has shaped how we work. No matter the size of the job or the condition of the space, we approach every home and office with the same care, respect, and commitment. We don’t just clean spaces. We honour the people and stories connected to them, and we always aim to go above and beyond.
