🐜 Termites Hard at Work in Kooringal! 🐜

Another successful termite baiting result in Kooringal, with an above-ground bait station attracting a huge number of hungry termites!

This is exactly what we want to see. The termites have located the bait and are actively feeding, allowing the bait to be carried back through the colony. Over time, this helps eliminate the colony rather than just the termites you can see.

If you’ve noticed mud leads, hollow-sounding timber, or it’s been more than 12 months since your last termite inspection, now is the perfect time to book.

📞 Contact FirstStop Pest Management today for professional termite inspections, baiting systems, and complete termite protection across Wagga Wagga and the Riverina.

Fun Fact: A healthy termite colony can contain hundreds of thousands to over a million termites, all working together 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! 🏡🐜

🛏️ Bites? Bugs around your mattress? Blood spots on your sheets? 🩸

These could all be signs of a bed bug infestation.

Bed bugs are expert hiders, squeezing into mattress seams, bed frames, furniture, and even cracks in walls. They feed on blood while people sleep, leaving itchy bites and making it difficult to get a good night’s rest.

If you’ve noticed any of these signs, don’t ignore them. The sooner a bed bug infestation is identified and treated, the easier it is to eliminate.

At FirstStop Pest Management, we provide professional bed bug inspections and treatments to help you get your home and your sleep back.

If you suspect bed bugs, give us a call before the problem gets worse.

🪳 Another Cockroach Infestation Gone! 🪳

We recently completed a job in Junee where the homeowners were dealing with a large cockroach infestation throughout their property.

Cockroaches aren’t just unpleasant to see, they can spread bacteria, contaminate food, and trigger allergies. The longer they’re left, the harder they become to control.

After a thorough inspection, we identified the main harbourage areas and carried out a targeted treatment to eliminate the infestation. We’re happy to say the property is now well on its way to being cockroach-free!

If you’ve started noticing cockroaches around your home or business, don’t wait until they become a major problem. Early treatment is the best way to keep them under control.

🐜 Meet the Nasutitermes Termite! 🐜

Not all termites are the same. One of the more interesting species found in Australia is the Nasutitermes termite, easily recognised by its pointed “snout” used to spray a sticky defensive substance at predators.

These termites were recently found on a customer’s property where they had become quite a nuisance around outdoor areas. After locating the source of the activity, we were able to successfully treat the infestation and provide the customer with peace of mind.

🐜 Termite Activity Found in Shearing Shed

Recently we were called out to inspect a shearing shed in Pulletop after concerns about termite activity. During the inspection we discovered active termites along with damage to structural timbers within the shed.

To locate the source of the infestation, we drilled and inspected several trees close to the shed and found an active termite nest hiding inside one of them.

The nest was treated on the spot to help eliminate the colony and reduce the risk of further damage to the shed and surrounding structures.

When was the last time you had your shearing shed inspected?

🚨 Termite Concern? It Pays to Get It Checked! 🚨

A client in Cootamundra recently contacted us after noticing signs they thought could be termite activity around their home.

During our inspection, we got under the house and found this impressive mud lead running through the subfloor. These mud structures are commonly built by subterranean termites to travel safely between the soil and timber.

The good news? Identifying termite activity early can make a huge difference in preventing costly structural damage.

🔎 Common warning signs include:
✅ Mud leads or mud tubes in subfloors
✅ Soft or hollow-sounding timber
✅ Bubbling or damaged paintwork
✅ Swarming termites around lights

If you’ve noticed anything unusual around your home, don’t wait until the damage becomes obvious.

FirstStop Pest Management provides professional termite inspections and treatment solutions throughout Cootamundra, Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas.

💧 Excess Moisture Under Your Home Could Be Attracting Termites! 🐜

Did you know that high moisture levels in your subfloor can create the perfect environment for termites?

Subfloor moisture is often caused by:
✔ Leaking pipes
✔ Poor drainage
✔ Blocked vents
✔ Inadequate ventilation
✔ Water pooling around the home

Termites are attracted to damp conditions because moisture helps them survive and makes timber easier to attack. Over time, excessive moisture can also lead to timber decay, creating even more favourable conditions for termite activity.

Common signs of subfloor moisture include:
🔹 Musty odours inside the home
🔹 Damp or mouldy areas
🔹 Condensation on pipes
🔹 Soft or rotting timber
🔹 Increased termite risk

Regular termite inspections don't just look for termites they also identify conditions that could make your home more vulnerable to an infestation.

If you're concerned about moisture under your home or want peace of mind that termites aren't already present, contact FirstStop Pest Management today.

🚨 Noticing mud build-up in your cupboards, skirting boards, or brown spots appearing on your walls? 🚨

These could be warning signs of termite activity inside your home.

Termites build mud tubes to travel safely and retain moisture while they search for timber to feed on. By the time visible signs appear, significant damage may already be occurring behind walls or under floors.

If you’ve spotted unusual mudding, bubbling paint, hollow-sounding timber, or unexplained brown marks, it’s important to have the area inspected as soon as possible.

At FirstStop Pest Management, we provide professional termite inspections and tailored treatment solutions to help protect homes across Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas.

Don’t ignore the signs early detection can save thousands in repair costs.

A big thank you to Martinus for trusting FirstStop Pest Management to take care of your redback spider problem 🕷️

Redback spiders are one of Australia’s most well-known spiders and are commonly found around homes, sheds, outdoor furniture, meter boxes and storage areas

How to identify a Redback Spider ‼️

Redback spiders are usually small, black spiders with a distinctive red or orange stripe running along the top of their abdomen. Some may also have a faint red marking underneath in the shape of an hourglass.

They are commonly found in dark, sheltered areas such as:
• Under outdoor furniture
• Around children’s toys
• Inside meter boxes
• Sheds and garages
• On pot plants
Their webs are messy and tangled, often close to the ground with a small retreat area where the spider hides.

While they may be small, their bite can be dangerous — especially for children and pets. Regular inspections and treatments can help keep your property safe and reduce spider activity around the home.

If you’re noticing webs or spider activity around your property, contact FirstStop Pest Management - Wagga Wagga for professional local service you can trust.
