Well easter is over we are halfway through Autumn, and we are now staring down the barrel of very few public holidays to get us through the long cold winter.
What's on the horizon??
As autumn arrives, insects and spiders seek shelter indoors, leading to a surge in indoor bug sightings. 🕸 🕷 They often conceal themselves in dark, warm areas like wall crevices. Meanwhile, rats and mice become more problematic, posing potential disruptions. 🐀
Autumn presents an opportunity for home maintenance to deter rodent intrusions. 🔎 🔦 Inspect and seal potential entry points such as garage, floor, attic, and foundation gaps with caulking. Don't forget to check the roof for pest entry points like cracked tiles.
In colder Australian regions, pests typically hibernate during winter, causing minimal disturbance. Ants remain underground, while bees and wasps seek refuge in trees. However, rodents may venture indoors during winter, underscoring the importance of pre-winter maintenance. 🛠
In warmer areas, pest activity decreases during mild winters, though not entirely. Regular maintenance before winter is crucial to minimize pest intrusion. 👷♀️ 👷♂️
