Can you actually wash jeans while camping? ๐Ÿ‘–โ›บ

Absolutely!

Washing them is actually the easy part. The bigger challenge with denim is getting enough water out afterwards so they don't take forever to dry.

A simple off-grid process:
Load โ†’ Plunge โ†’ Drain โ†’ Refill โ†’ Plunge to Rinse โ†’ Wring โ†’ Dry

My biggest tip? Wash jeans early in the day and give yourself plenty of drying time.

Weโ€™ve been putting different off-grid washing, wringing and drying methods to the test โ€” because sometimes the little things make a big difference when you're doing laundry without a washing machine.

How long does it actually take for wet jeans to dry when you're travelling off-grid? ๐Ÿ‘–

I wanted a real answer, so I tested it.

After wringing these jeans with the Dezitrek Wringer, they weighed 795 g.

I hung them out to dry and timed the entire process.

The result? Dry enough to wear again in just 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Every gram of water you remove before hanging your clothes makes a difference.

Have you ever had to wait all day for your jeans to dry while camping?

We tested three off-grid methods to remove water from a soaking wet pair of jeans. ๐Ÿ‘–

Hand wringing. Towel roll. Dezitrek Wringer.

Which one removed the most water?

Watch the results and let me know which method you thought would win.

One quick rinse before the next adventure. ๐ŸŒด

Because nobody likes packing wet, salty swimmers.

Travelling with kids usually means one thing...

More washing. ๐Ÿ˜…

Every swim, every beach stop and every adventure seems to create another pile of wet clothes.

Instead of searching for laundromats or packing extra outfits, we simply washed as we went.

It took a few minutes, then Jacob was back to doing what kids should be doing...

Exploring.

What's the one item your kids always seem to get dirty first? ๐Ÿ‘‡

One thing we underestimated while travelling Australia was laundry.

Not the washing.

The drying.

Towels, swimmers, kids' clothes and thicker items always seemed to stay damp longer than we'd like.

That's why we created the Dezitrek laundry system.

Wash. Wring. Dry.

No power needed.

Designed by our Townsville family for caravanners, campers and travellers who want to stay off-grid longer.

Have you ever cut a trip short because of washing or drying?

Most people think off-grid laundry is just part of the trade-off.

It has to be hard.
Time-consuming.
Something you just put up with.

But the goal was never to spend more time washing.

It was to spend more time enjoying the trip.

Thatโ€™s the whole point.

Washing alone isnโ€™t enough.

Youโ€™re still left with heavy, wet clothes.

And thatโ€™s what slows everything down.

When you remove most of that waterโ€ฆ

clothes become lighter,
easier to manage,
and actually start drying properly.

Thatโ€™s the difference.
