HI I’m Melissa and I started Downsize Me With Love late last year after renovating and moving my mother in law into supported living. She became so ill during treatment for an advanced cancer that she was required to go into respite care for a couple of weeks. She did return home, but the benefits of living independently, yet as a part of a supportive and engaging community became quickly apparent.
I have 25 years experiencing working professionally as a project manager within marketing, communications, and events within different organisations, so getting things done on time and to budget is second nature to me.
I’ve renovated three of my own homes and investment properties and moved and renovated elderly friends’ properties on several occasions. When I was doing my MIL house this time around, my painter said, “Mel you’re so good at this you should do it as a job” and here I am.
Moving and renovating are two of life’s most stressful and emotional tasks. I aim to remove that stress to sellers, whilst maximising the return on their investment for their property.
Moving to the next stage of life can cause anxiety and worry, but it really doesn’t need to be that way. As my MIL has discovered, there is a world out there to be lived and enjoyed at every stage of life. She has made new friends, is participating in many new activities, and is fed a nutritious and delicious meal each lunch and dinner enjoyed in the company of others. Not only is she happier than she thought she could be at this stage of life, the peace of mind that my husband and I have knowing she is safe and living in a supportive community is priceless.
Thinking of making a change? Just say YES!!! Taking the first step is always the hardest, but I promise you I will make this process absolutely stress free, so you can enjoy your precious life.
As a starting offer, I will downsize your property one room free. Have a 4-bedroom house, I will do it at the cost of the 3-bedroom rate.
I would love to connect with you / your family. Please reach out if like me, you know your parents could be thriving instead of surviving in their current living situation.
With love,
Melissa
