How awesome are these 1940s Tassie oak bentwood armchairs that we just restored for Melanie from Rushcutters Bay. The timber was stripped back to raw and traditional French polished by hand using clear shellac while retaining the natural timber colour and patina. . All new timber button caps made to match. Reupholstered and recovered in Diana Storm fabric from Zepel Fabrics.

How awesome are these mid-century Wrightbilt armchairs that we just restored for Mark from Five Dock. The chairs were restored and reupholstered while retaining the original orange 60s fabric. We repaired and hand-stitched some areas of the fabric that were damaged, cleaned the fabric inside and out and added new premium quality foam. The frames were restored and hand polished while retaining the original finish and patina.

This Standis mid-century sideboard we just restored for Nuala from Northbridge came up a treat! Fully restored and hand polished in Osmo oil. Nuala was very pleased that most of the marks and stains came out of the top.

How awesome is this fantastic 60s Parker model 134 lounge suite with matching custom-made ottomans that we just fully restored and upholstered for Braith from Cairns. Braith recently inherited the suite from his parents so it has special memories for him. The ottomans were made by repurposing and modifying original parker lounge chair bases that we purchased from our good friend Ben who just happen to have some spare. The stunning vintage-vibe fabric is Octavia Aqua from Zepel Fabrics. We also supplied 6 feather scatter cushions and arm covers.

Check out this awesome “Kone chair” we just restored for Bridget from Balmain. The Kone chair was designed in Sydney in 1948 by Roger McLay and later manufactured by Descon of Sydney. A true Australian modernist classic formed from a single curved sheet of plywood. This one came to us with significant shell damage, including cracks in the plywood and a failed rear back joint which we carefully reglued. Hand polished to bring it back to life while preserving its original finish, character and authenticity. New rubber binding was added to the metal frame top and new rubber feet.

I’m not normally a fan of painted vintage furniture (and I’m still not) but this Fler D71 Surfboard Back Divan looks fantastic recovered in Dynamo Ruby fabric from Zepel. It works perfectly, contrasting with the black frame. Fully reupholstered and recovered for Jacqui and Robert from Dulwich Hill.

Snelling webbed chairs for our client Luka from Paddington. Designed by Snelling in 1947, these Aussie mid-century icons arrived broken and badly damaged but have been restored back to their former glory using traditional techniques and rewebbed in a durable black webbing.
