09/04/2026 UPDATE On Surgery and why I had to have it.
So in January this year I woke up to my lift Breast swollen like a foot ball.
Ended up in hospital for the night and they did a CT scan, results showed huge amounts of fluid. They then referred me to a specialist that details in Endocon and breast cancer related issues.
He sent me for an MRI and ultrasound biopsy as he had concerns of the fluid for BIA- ALCL, which is an immune cancer caused by breast implants. Yes, I have implants, have had them for 14 years with no problems. He said I needed to have the implants removed with the capsules so they can be sent to pathology for testing as my biopsy result showed 1% of the BIA-ALCL. Yesterday I was admitted to the George Centre at Gregory Hills, had an Endo block removal, which he removed the implants in a whole and the capsules. I’m in somewhat pain as he would’ve had to remove the capsule from my chest wall. I’m home now resting and the surgery went so well that I did not have to stay overnight as previously thought.
Just waiting now for the pathology results, fingers crossed they come back clear for BIA-ALCL
