Ceramic coating performance, a few months later 👀

This BYD returned for its first maintenance detail after being ceramic coated a couple of months ago.

The result? Strong hydrophobic behaviour, tight water beading and consistent performance across the paintwork.

Only resprayed a year ago… and already absolutely flogged 😮‍💨

This VZ came in covered in heavy swirls, deep water-spot etching and all the usual signs of paint that’d copped a hiding way too early.

We stripped it back with a full wash and decontamination, chopped out the bulk of the damage with a rotary and wool pad, refined the finish with the DA, touched up a few of the worst chips, then locked it all in with our flagship 10-year ceramic coating.

Now that red is properly popping again and protected for years to come 🔥

Brand new doesn’t always mean perfect 👀

This BYD Sealion 7 came in for our Signature Package straight from the dealership, and we still found sanding marks, rotary holograms and a few paint inconsistencies.

This six-month-old Isuzu D-MAX was already covered in car-wash swirl marks—with paint readings as low as 66 microns.

Modern paint is thin, which means there isn’t enough clear coat for repeated heavy corrections. The best approach is to correct it once, protect it properly and maintain it safely.

After a full correction and ceramic coating, the owner said it looked better than the day she picked it up from the dealership.

Bat poo vs paint 🦇💩

This Prado bonnet is a perfect example of why you don’t want bird/bat droppings sitting on your paint for too long.

Once it sits there in the sun, it can start etching into the clear coat and in some cases permanently eat into the paint. At that stage, a normal wash won’t fix it and depending how deep it’s gone, even polishing may only improve it, not completely remove it.

Best thing you can do: remove it safely as soon as possible and keep your paint protected.

Rockhampton sun + acidic droppings = not a good combo.
