Rental inspections are one thing… but opening a septic tank and finding it trying to become an actual pine forest was a new level.
This one was completely packed with pine cones, pine needles and debris, to the point the system was basically unusable.
Pipes blocked solid and took us a good hour just to clear everything enough to get it flowing properly again.
Good news? She’s back up and running now.
A reminder that septic systems aren’t magic holes in the ground. If stormwater, garden runoff, or debris can get into the tank, eventually it turns into a very expensive compost experiment.
If your drains are slow, gurgling, overflowing, or smelling a bit too “earthy”, it might be time to get it checked before it turns into this.
