⚠️ Why PPE Matters When Working With Cleaning Chemicals ⚠️
This photo is a powerful reminder that exposure to cleaning chemicals can cause serious skin irritation, chemical burns, and painful injuries when proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) isn't used.
This is the result of my own bad choices!
🧤 Protect Yourself Every Time You Clean
Many cleaning products contain strong ingredients designed to break down dirt, grease, mould, and contaminants. Unfortunately, these same chemicals can also damage your skin, eyes, and respiratory system if they come into direct contact with your body.
Always wear appropriate PPE:
✅ Chemical-resistant gloves
✅ Safety glasses or goggles
✅ Long sleeves and long pants
✅ Enclosed footwear
✅ Respiratory protection when required
Risks of not wearing PPE can include:
❌ Chemical burns
❌ Skin irritation and rashes
❌ Eye injuries
❌ Allergic reactions
❌ Long-term health complications from repeated exposure
At the end of the day, no job is worth risking your health. Taking a few extra minutes to put on the correct PPE can prevent weeks of pain, medical treatment, and time off work.
Safety isn't optional – it's part of the job.
