Perry's Garage

Perry's Garage Perry's Garage by Adam & Kylie Perry, building street driven elite quality vehicles.

After spending many years building our own personal cars & helping mates with their Street Machines we have decided to start up a small business taking on automotive fabrication works. We don’t plan for this to replace our full time jobs but to enable us to build further cars and share our passion and experience with others to help them create their elite level street machines. We operate out of our home workshop with the ability to take on minor works right through to complete builds.

We're pretty wrapped with our new trailer from JTR Race Trailers.

Our old trailer served us well over the years, but with some of the bigger cars we've been building lately, it was starting to feel a bit on the small side.
It was a great setup though, so we carried over a lot of the design features we liked, just scaled everything up a fair bit to suit our needs.

Of course, Dad couldn't resist pulling over on the trip back from SA to grab a photo in front of a Perry's fuel stop. It seemed only fitting for the new trailer's first road trip!

Another milestone knocked over on the Nomad.

Wherever we've replaced panels on this build, we've stuck with high-quality US-manufactured panels.
While they come with a higher upfront cost than some of the offshore reproductions, the fit and quality are in a different league. The time saved getting panels to fit correctly more than makes up for the difference, resulting in a better finish and fewer hours spent on modifications.
With the entire floor now replaced, along with the front toe boards, sills, and tail pan, we've officially wrapped up the body rust repairs.

Now it's time for the Nomad to make the move across to the new workshop and into the next stage of the build. Looking forward to seeing this one continue to come together.

Ten years. Has it really been that long?

Many people don't know that before Kylie and I decided to build Tail Spin, we had a rusty HQ GTS Coupe sitting in the shed. At the time, it was going to be our first elite build. But the more we looked at it, the more we realised it wasn't going to allow us to push the boundaries as far as we knew we could.

Then one day, flicking through old Street Machine magazines, we stopped at Vespo's 1993 concept sketch of a backwards EK. That sketch sparked an idea and changed everything.

With a stack of help, guidance and encouragement from Master Craftsman Howard Astill, along with the support of many talented friends, we set out to build something that would show the industry exactly what we were capable of achieving.

Today marks 10 years since the doors opened at MotorEx 2016 and Tail Spin was revealed to the Australian car scene for the very first time.

What happened next exceeded anything we could have imagined. The following year, Tail Spin achieved what no other car had before, becoming the first vehicle to complete the clean sweep of awards at MotorEx.

A decade later, the car continues to do exactly what we hoped it would. Having spent the last six months on display in a corporate setting, Tail Spin still stops people in their tracks, turns heads and sparks conversations wherever it sits.

Looking back, we're incredibly proud of what the car achieved, but even more grateful for the people who helped bring the vision to life. What started as an idea inspired by a concept sketch became a car that changed our lives and opened doors we never imagined.

Happy 10th birthday, Tail Spin.

A bit more progress on the Nomad.

While the rear cargo floor was out, it was the perfect time to fit a set of concealed tailgate hinges from Hot Rod Dynamics for a much cleaner look.
To be honest, I’d never really paid much attention to how bulky the factory hinges were. But after seeing Aidan’s renders with the hinges removed, it became pretty obvious they had to go.

It’s one of those subtle changes that most people won’t notice straight away, but it really cleans up the rear of the car and helps bring the overall vision together.

It’s been a little quiet on here lately… but for good reason.

Earlier this year we took a big leap, packing up the old workshop and moving into a much larger space just outside of Canberra, and we couldn’t be more excited to finally be up and running!

There’s plenty in the works for the new shop over the next 12 months, and we can’t wait to share the journey with you all.

But for now… it’s back into it, with the Nomad and Fairlady restomods front and centre.

FINAL STAGE: Maximum Clarity, Gloss & Depth

This is the stage where everything comes together. To finish Ben Sargent Monaro, Kylie Perry refined the paint using Mothers Polish Australia California Gold Ceramic Paint Correction, followed by California Gold Ceramic Spray Wax.
The result… Incredible clarity, deep gloss, and that unmistakable glass‑like finish, finished off with a head‑turning shine.
The level of depth and clarity achieved with California Gold Ceramic Paint Correction genuinely impressed us, delivering results superior to anything we’ve used before.

Be sure to check out Ben’s Monaro this weekend at Showcarsmelbourne.

STAGE 3: Removing Compound Swirls & Enhancing Colour and Depth.
Kylie is now stepping down to a yellow fine foam polishing pad, paired with Mothers Polish Australia Professional Foam Pad Polish. This stage removes any light compounding swirls while bringing back clarity, depth, and richness to the paint.
This is where the colour really starts to pop and the finish begins to look show‑ready. One step closer to perfection…

While Kylie’s Rupes Nano iBrid is off getting some TLC, we took the opportunity to give the Flex PXE80 a run — and it didn’t disappoint.
Mini polishers like this are perfect for getting into all those tight, hard‑to‑reach areas that bigger machines just can’t access. Paired with Mothers Polish Australia’s new Ultimate Mag & Aluminium Polish, these billet wheels cleaned up beautifully in no time at all.

Small tool, big results 👌
Just another step in the process of keeping this Monaro show‑ready.
