🏠 The Housing Gap No One's Talking About

Australia's care and housing systems are shifting fast. New NDIS reforms are tightening eligibility, $1.7B is heading into aged care beds, and yet Specialist Disability Accommodation still only reaches around 6% of NDIS participants with the highest support needs. For many people with disability, that means longer waits and fewer safe places to land.

At Residence Revival, we stay close to these shifts so our support keeps up with what participants actually need. This week, that looked like:

Link Wentworth's Home Sweet 2026 Sleepout is happening tonight. Our Founder and Director, Matthew Rasheed, is taking part and sacrificing his bed to help raise funds and awareness for people experiencing homelessness.

Our Founder and Director, Matthew Rasheed, was at NSW Parliament House this week for the official launch of National Homelessness Week hosted by Homelessness Nsw.

The event, Beyond Crisis: Reimagining Our Homelessness Response, opened with NSW Minister Rose Jackson outlining a 10-year vision to make homelessness rare, brief and non-repeated. A panel of sector leaders, chaired by Dom Rowe, CEO of Homelessness NSW, then unpacked what it will really take to get there: more social housing, better-funded support services, and systems that talk to each other across health, justice and housing.

Matt also came across a beautiful exhibition on display at Parliament House, "This Is Who I Am," featuring young people from Sydney Secondary College's Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community sharing their pride, culture and dreams for the future. 💙
