Locals Supporting Locals! ☕️🥖
There is something special about the community here in the Hunter Valley. We believe that when small businesses back each other, everyone wins.
We are so proud to be the team behind the scenes at Sidecar Roasters keeping their cafe sparkling clean on a fortnightly basis so they can focus on what they do best—serving up that incredible coffee!
To add in the love for a healthy gut, Just ROLL with it Huntlee has partnered with Side Roasters as a local pick up point for her amazing sourdough products on Sundays! I myself cannot go a week without putting in my order for Steph’s delicious sourdough goodies! 🍪 🍞
Whether it’s professional cleaning, artisanal baking or coffee making - choosing local means supporting your neighbors and keeping our community thriving.
Next time you’re out, consider stopping by a local shop—it makes a world of difference! 🏡
Another rate rise. More fees. More pressure on families. More small businesses closing down. Meanwhile the monopolies keep growing, shareholders keep winning, and ordinary people are being pushed harder every month just trying to survive.
Parents are burnt out. Families are stretched thin. Small business owners are working ridiculous hours, missing time with their kids, sacrificing weekends, running on stress and exhaustion just to keep the lights on while billion-dollar corporations continue posting record profits.
We’ve been trained into a cycle of convenience, speed, exhaustion and overconsumption while the wealth keeps flowing upward and local communities slowly lose the very things that make them feel human in the first place.
So maybe the most radical thing we can do right now isn’t spending more.
Maybe it’s spending differently. INTENTIONALLY.
Use what’s already in your fridge and pantry for a week.
Swap meals with neighbours. Share excess produce. Buy from a local grower, baker, butcher or market stall instead of feeding another corporate giant.
Spend less.
But spend more intentionally.
Because every dollar is a vote for the kind of world we keep building.
This coming June, say no to big corporations for one week.
Buy local. Share more. Waste less. Push back.
If this resonates with you, share it.

Let’s remind people that communities are built by people, not monopolies.
