The culprit is likely the Lilly pilly beetle. These bright green beetles and their larvae can absolutely decimate your pristine hedges if left unchecked. 🪲 🐛

Hearing noises in your roof or walls?

This is why it’s so important you don’t listen to the common suggestion I see on Facebook “it’s probably rats, just throw some bait in your roof”

An old saying I probably heard from my Grandfather comes to mind “time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted”

It is vital you yourself or a professional confirm the identity of the unwanted guests - harming a protected species is a big no no that could result in the animals death, a terrible smelly mess in your roof/walls & a hefty fine.

Quiet morning walk in the fog at Drysdale yesterday with jobs not scheduled until early afternoon - never too far from work though, stumbled upon a very active European wasp nest at Mcleods water hole in Drysdale, reported the invasive & often aggressive pest council.

Friendly reminder with the colder & wetter weather arriving it’s likely so will our uninvited furry guests, who would want to be outside when you can access a nice warm, dry & safe space.

If you want to avoid rodents like mice having easy access to your brick veneer home then I recommend installing weep hole covers.

Uncovered weep holes offer easy access to your wall cavity’s & from there mice can go straight up into your roof cavity.

There are 2 types available at Bunnings, I recommend and have the plastic options myself as they’re much simpler to install & cheaper.
