In 2026, Rukan Al Ausaf Technical Services L.L.C. successfully completed shotcrete (guniting) works for a structural strengthening project in Dubai, UAE. The project involved surface preparation, reinforcement steel mesh fixing, and the application of high-quality wet-mix shotcrete to strengthen and restore reinforced concrete elements while ensuring durability and structural integrity.
Work included hydroblasting and thorough cleaning of the existing concrete surface, installation of reinforcement steel mesh, substrate preparation, and application of C30 wet-mix shotcrete using approved equipment and techniques. Special attention was given to achieving the specified thickness, proper bonding with the existing concrete, and a smooth, uniform finished surface.
The work was carried out in carefully planned stages. Initially, all loose, weak, and damaged concrete was removed. After application, the finished shotcrete surface was properly levelled, finished, and cured to achieve the specified compressive strength and long-term performance. Proper curing procedures were followed to minimise shrinkage and support the durability of the repaired concrete elements.
